Tarleton goes for 11th in a row Saturday in game two of Rivalry Week

- Game Notes

STEPHENVILLE - With the first round of rivalry week in the books, the Tarleton TexAnns (12-5, 9-0) are looking for the clean sweep of Texas A&M-Commerce Saturday when they host the Lions at 5 p.m. in Wisdom Gym.

Tarleton got the better of TAMUC Wednesday in Commerce 89-61 as the TexAnns pushed their current winning streak to 10 and forced the Lions into an 11-game losing streak.

The TexAnns were led in scoring by four players in double figures: Shelby Adamson (21), Peyton Adamson (18), Shanae Lowrance (15), and Kiara Wright (10), while Commerce settled for a single effort of 20 points and 10 rebounds by Breanna Harris.

Saturday's game will be just the fourth time since Tarleton joined the Lone Star Conference in 1994 that the TexAnns have played the same team back-to-back and Tarleton boasts a 5-1 record in those games.

The only loss came in February 2002 to Angelo State.

Tarleton also enters Saturday's on fire offensively.

Prior to last week, it had been since 1994 that Tarleton scored at least 89 points on the road. Now they have done it in back-to-back outings with 90 at Abilene Christian and 89 at Commerce.

The charge has been primarily led by Peyton, who averaging 23.0 points per game over her last three contests and is 18-24 from downtown in those games.

She was also named this week's Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

Tip-off for Saturday's game is set for 5 p.m. and will be immediately followed by the men's game at 7 p.m. During halftime of the men's game, a special ceremony will be held to present the TexAnns' South Division Championship rings from last season.
