STEPHENVILLE - The Tarleton Texans (3-1) will host Arlington Baptist (2-4) this Saturday, Dec. 1, in non-conference action in preparation of beginning Lone Star Conference games next week. The Texans and Patriots are scheduled to tip-off at 7 p.m. on Saturday inside Wisdom Gym in Stephenville.
QUICK HITS
• Tarleton has now won three-straight after dropping the season-opener.
• Saturday's game will be Tarleton's final tune-up before opening up conference play next Wedndesday, Dec. 5, in San Angelo.
• The Texans have four players averaging double-figures so far this season.
Coleman Furst (G, Jr, Denison) leads the way with a 14.3 points per game average.
• Four different players have led the Texans in scoring each game. Furst led the team with 15 points in the opener;

IN HONOR OF REX
• The Tarleton Athletics department will pause for a moment of silence before the men's game tips-off in memory of Rex Fleming, the 10-year-old son of Abilene Christian University sports information director Lance Fleming. Rex died Sunday night after bravely battling a brain tumor for the last two years.
SERIES HISTORY
• Saturday's contest will be just the second meeting between the two schools all-time.
• Tarleton won the first game of the series, 77-54, in Stephenville on Feb. 9, last season.
• Word led the Texans with 16 points in last season's win over the Patriots.
• Other Texan returners that played in last season's game against Arlignton Baptist: Furst - eight points; Carter - two points; and Clemons - six points.
THE PURSUIT OF PERFECTION

Davene Carter went 10-for-10 from the floor in Tarleton's 91-70 win over Dallas Christian on Saturday.
• Carter went 6-for-6 in the contest against ECU and now has made 16-consecutive shots from the field.
• Carter's last missed field goal came at the 12:52 mark of the second half against UT-Permian Basin. Carter made a field goal at the 18:54 mark of the second half to give him 17 FG's in his last 18 attempts.
• Carter went 1-for-1 from the floor in the season-opener, giving him three games shooting 1.000 percent from the field.
• His .875 shooting percentage on the season currently leads the Lone Star Conference.
HOME SWEET HOME
• The Tarleton Texans are 320-57 (.849) overall when playing inside the friendly confines of Wisdom Gym under head coach
Lonn Reisman.
• The Texans have posted a record of 194-24 (.890) at home under Reisman since the year 2000.
• Tarleton is 247-43 (.851) all-time at home under Reisman since joining NCAA Division II.
TEXANS FALL OUT OF NABC TOP-25
• After opening the season at No. 17 in the NABC's preseason poll, the Texans dropped out of the top-25 in last week's (Nov. 20) updated poll.
• Dropping out of the poll snapped 18-consecutive weeks that Tarleton had been ranked inside the top 25.
FINAL TUNE-UP
• Saturday's game against Arlington Baptist will be Tarleton's final tune-up before opening up Lone Star Conference action.
• The Texasn open the LSC slate against Angelo State next Wednesday, Dec. 5, in San Angelo.
• Since 2000, Tarleton is 9-4 in contests played before opening the LSC schedule.
• Tarleton's last loss to an opponent before an LSC opener came against Dallas Baptist (67-76) back on Jan. 11, 2010.
TEXANS PICKED TO WIN LSC
• The Texans were selected to defend its LSC Championship, earning the No. 1 ranking in the preseason poll released by the league office on Oct. 25, 2012.
• Tarleton received 12 of a possible 29 first-place votes in the poll.
• Midwestern State received 12 first-place votes in the poll as well, but Tarleton took the top spot earning 269 total points to MSU's 262.
TARLETON DEBUTS AT NO. 17 IN NABC PRESEASON POLL
• The Texans finished the 2011-12 campaign at No. 9 in the nation and head into the new season at No. 17 according to a preseason poll released by the NABC on Nov. 2.
• Tarleton was the highest ranked LSC team in the preseason poll. MSU debuts at No. 23 in 2012-13 after finishing No. 5 last season.
• Including the 2012-13 campaign, Tarleton has been preseason ranked inside the top-25 seven times.
TARLETON IN SEASON-OPENERS
• Tarleton snapped a 10-game winning streak in season openers after falling 73-60 to Southwestern Assemblies of God on Monday.
• Tarleton's last loss in a season-opener had come back in 2001 against Wingate (73-83).
• Overall, Tarleton is now 21-4 in season-openers under head coach
Lonn Reisman.
TEXANS RANKED NO. 1 IN DEFENSE LAST SEASON
• The Texans finished the season ranked No. 1 overall in scoring defense for a second-straight year after allowing opponents to just 56.3 points per game in 2012-13. The Texans allowed just 53.3 points to finish no. 1 in 2010-11.
UP NEXT
• Tarleton will open the Lone Star Conference schedule against Angelo State this Wednesday, Dec. 5, in San Angelo. Tip-off between the Texans and Rams is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. inside the Junell Center.
• Tarleton returns home Saturday, Dec. 8 to host Abilene Christian in what could be the final time the Wildcats play inside Wisdom Gym before moving to NCAA Division I.
