STEPHENVILLE - The Tarleton baseball team will travel to San Antonio to take on No. 12 St. Mary's on Tuesday at 3 p.m. The Texans defeated the Rattlers last year in San Antonio 6-5 when St. Mary's was ranked No. 15.
This season, Tarleton is 4-1 on the year through the first three weeks of the season. Due to weather though, the Texans have not played since Feb. 11 when they competed in the Texas-Permian Basin Classic.
As a team, the Texans are batting .200 with a .241 slugging percentage and a .350 on-base percentage. Chris Patton is leading the way with a .357 average, while
Evan Robinson is hitting .294.
Ethan Stuckly has a team-high four RBI's with Robinson and
Garrett Hardey chipping in three apiece.
Ryan Small has five stolen bases in five attempts and Hardey is 4-for-4 in stolen base opportunities.
Tarleton's pitching staff has a combined ERA of 2.09, which is tops in the Lone Star Conference.

Matt Buckmaster and
Britt Robertshaw all have wins under their belts, while Robertshaw also has the team's only save this season.
St. Mary's has cruised through the early part of their season, posting a 9-2 record. The Rattlers' two losses came against then-ranked Incarnate Word and Angelo State. They are also 6-1 at home so far this year.
Overall, St. Mary's is hitting for a .255 average and a .381 slugging percentage. Billy Richards is leading the team with a .341 average and 15 runs scored. M.P. Cokinos has 12 RBI's on the year while Tyler Migl has nine RBI's. The Rattlers have 22 doubles this season as a team.
The pitchers have posted been excellent this season for the Rattlers, with a 1.86 ERA. Rene Solis and Carl O'Neal both have perfect 3-0 records and sub-1.10 ERA's. O'Neal also has a complete game, shutout to his resume. St. Mary's has not given up a home run all season.
The Texans trail in the all-time series 33-12.
First pitch is slated for 3 p.m. on Tuesday at Wolfe Stadium in San Antonio.
