STEPHENVILLE - The Texan baseball team returns home after a couple of weeks on the road for a non-conference match-up with Texas Wesleyan at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28 at the Cecil Ballow Baseball Complex.
Tarleton is 4-5 on the season and coming off a tough weekend at Southern Arkansas. The Texans still boast a win over No. 27 Incarnate Word earlier in the year.
As a team, Tarleton is hitting a .212 average with a .256 slugging percentage and a .324 on-base percentage.
Ty Crump is leading the team with a .400 average and four RBI's while
Noah Ringenberger has a .294 mark, 10 hits and eight runs scored.
Ethan Stuckly has six RBI's, a team-high. The Texans have been aggressive on the base paths this season with 20 stolen bases in 29 attempts.
The Tarleton pitching staff has a combined ERA of 4.20 through 75 innings of work.
Britt Robertshaw has a 1-0 record and a 2.70 ERA.
Pete Perez is pitching very well with a 0.60 ERA and 17 k's in 15 innings on the mound. Perez also has the Texans' lone complete game so far this season.
Texas Wesleyan enters the game with a 12-5 record and 3-3 conference mark. Tarleton's common opponent is Mary Hardin-Baylor whom both teams swept. Overall, the Rams have a .260 average and .337 slugging percentage. Jordan Fuller has a .340 average, 18 hits and 10 runs while Alex Padilla has 11 RBI's and a .333 average.
The Rams' pitching staff has a 2.26 ERA in 139.1 innings on the mound. Dillon Wilson leads the staff with a 3.32 ERA and a 3-0 record. Nolan Barbee has two saves while Blake Ballard contributed the other.
