STEPHENVILLE - The Texans will travel to San Antonio to take on the Cardinals of Incarnate Word Saturday as Tarleton looks to win their 18th game in a row.  Coming off a couple of hard-fought games, the Texans will look to have a repeat of their last game against UIW where Tarleton won comfortably 71-59 in Stephenville.

GAMETIME
Tip-off is at 4:30 p.m. for the men's game and 2 p.m. for the women's game in the McDermmott Center.

LAST WEEK
The Texans (20-1, 12-0) completed a season sweep of the Javelinas as they picked up an 11-point win over A&M-Kingsville Wednesday in Wisdom Gym.  Wes Dipprey had a breakout game with his first double-double of the season (18 points, 13 rebounds).  As a team, Tarleton held the Javelinas to 28.8 percent shooting on the night as they stayed perfect in LSC play.

THIS YEAR
On the season, Tarleton is shooting 48.3 percent from the floor, 33.7 percent from three-point land and 70.0 percent from the charity stripe.  The Texans are averaging 70.5 points per game and 36.0 rebounds per game.

HOLDING OFF OPPONENTS
Opponent's are shooting just 35.8 percent overall and averaging 54.4 points per game against the Texans.  Tarleton is No. 1 in the nation in points allowed and No.2 in field goal percentage allowed.

STATISTICAL LEADERS
Chris Harrell leads the Texans with 13.4 points per game and shoots 83.9 percent from the free throw line.  Fabian Wilson is adding 11.3 points and 6.6 boards per contest, while Shedrick Haynes contributes 11.3 points and 3.3 assists each game.  Wes Dipprey is chipping in with 6.2 points and 5.4 rebounds as well.

SIZING UP THE OPPONENT
Incarnate Word is a long and athletic team that has caused havoc for LSC opponents as of late.  The Cardinals are one of the hottest teams in the league right now by winning five of their last six contests.  A blowout loss at Eastern New Mexico is their only blemish over the past month.

STOPPING THE CARDINALS
Overall, the Cardinals are averaging 71.2 points per game and giving up 65.8 points to opponents.  That accounts for the fourth best scoring margin in the LSC (+5.4).  UIW also ranks in the top three in the league in field goal percentage, rebounding offense and blocked shots.
The all-time series between the two teams is tied at eight games apiece.  The Texans have won the last five meetings however.

WHO TO LOOK FOR
Incarnate Word is led offensively by senior forward Chris Johnson and his 13.0 points and 8.2 rebounds per game, which is second best in the LSC.  Shaun Umeh and Dionelle Rucker are both contributing double-figure points per game and over four rebounds per contest.
Umeh also leads the league in steals (2.2), while Ian Markolf is No. 2 in blocks (1.1).

AMONG THE BEST
The Texans are ranked near the top of almost every statistical category in the conference.
Tarleton is No. 1 in scoring defense (54.4 ppg) and No. 1 in scoring margin (+16.1).  The Texans are also No. 1 in field goal defense (.358), No. 1 in three-point field goal defense (26.9) and No. 2 in rebounding defense (29.9).
Individually, Chris Harrell is No. 9 in scoring (13.4 ppg), while Fabian Wilson is No. 3 in rebounding (6.6) and No. 4 in blocks (0.9).  Shedrick Haynes is No. 5 in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.1) as well as No. 7 in assists (3.3). Harrell is also No. 3 in free-throw percentage (.839).

NO. 1 DEFENSE
This year's team has big shoes to fill, but has held opponents in check thus far as opposing offenses have averaged just 54.4 points per game.  That is good enough for No. 1 in the nation again at the DII level.

REMAINING IN THE RANKINGS
Tarleton was ranked No. 8 in the NABC/NCAA Division II Preseason Polls and No. 1 in the Lone Star Conference Preseason poll.
The Texans are now No. 3 in the nation and have a solid hold on No. 1 in the LSC standings.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE
The Texans take on Incarnate Word Saturday then have a week off before hosting Arlington Baptist next Saturday in Stephenville.

DID YOU KNOW?
This year's Texans have the best start in the 51 year school history of Tarleton being a senior college.  At 20-1, the Texans passed the 2002-03 team (19-1) with their win over A&M-Kingsville.
