STEPHENVILLE - Tarleton (28-13, 13-5) will look to rebound from a tough weekend when they travel to Denton Tuesday for a doubleheader against LSC rival Texas Woman's (29-12, 11-6).
Both teams come into the games having struggled of late.
Tarleton was swept for the first time in a three-game series last weekend against Midwestern State while TWU has dropped its last four games.
The Pioneers boast the conference's second-best offense with a .334 team batting average and a LSC-leading 133 stolen bases, led by the reigning LSC freshman of the year Bailey Vrazel.
Vrazel leads the Pioneers with a .432 average and is 60-61 on stolen base attempts this season.
Outside of Vrazel, TWU isn't lacking in the offense department with nine .300-plus hitters and nine players with double-figure RBI totals.
The TexAnns will counter with an opposite style of offense - a power heavy lineup.
Katie Welborn leads the TexAnns in average at .386 while also boasting 12 home runs and 32 RBIs.
In addition to Welborn's top average, Samantha Swanda is next on the team with a .383 average and leads the team with 13 bombs and 42 RBIs. Arianna Rodriguez is also hitting .351 with 11 homers and 34 RBIs.
Abigail Tammen has also been swinging a hot bat since her return from injury in March. The senior outfielder is the fourth TexAnn with a .300-plus batting average.
In a battle of the pitching circle, Swanda and Randi Fentress will toe the rubber for Tarleton with a 2.44 and 3.13 ERA respectively while TWU will counter with Larisa Garcia (2.91) and Katie Hines (3.27).
First pitch in Denton is set for 4 p.m. Tuesday and live stats are available through the link above.
