    Last Time Out

Tarleton dropped an overtime heartbreaker at Midwestern State, falling 78-71 in extra time to the Mustangs. The TexAnns rallied from 10 points down in the second half to force the extra period before the Mustangs outscored Tarleton 13-6 in OT. Peyton Adamson led the TexAnns with 22 points - the fifth 20-point effort of this season and the eighth of her career - while Kiara Wright recorded a career-high 20 rebounds.

    Last Year's Meetings

Tarleton was a perfect 3-0 against the Zias last season, including ending Eastern New Mexico's season in the opening round of the Lone Star Conference Championship Tournament. The meeting in Portales went down to the wire as the TexAnns escaped with a 78-70 win to give head coach Ronnie Hearne his 1000th career coaching victory.

Wright, Adamson find success against Zias

Kiara Wright and Peyton Adamson have had much success against the Zias during their Tarleton careers. Wright has squared off against Eastern New Mexico five times in her career and is averaging 12.4 points and 9.6 rebounds against them. She has recorded double-figure rebounds in every game against them. Adamson is also averaging double figures against them with 11.7 points per game in three career outings.

    Honoring a wounded teammate

Following the news of Shanae Lowrance's season-ending knee injury, TexAnn teammate Kiara Wright asked to change jersey numbers for the remainder of the season - trading in her 32 for Lowrance's 33.

One of the nation's best offenses

Tarleton is putting together one of the best offensive seasons in school history. After 13 games this season, the TexAnns have put themselves in the top 25 in the nation in three offensive categories. The TexAnns are No. 2 in field goal percentage (.481), No. 9 in 3-point field goal percentage (.391) and No. 23 in scoring offense (74.7). They are also on pace to break the school records - .519 field goal percentage, .404 3-point field goal percentage, and 83.9 scoring offense.

Wright becoming one of Tarleton's best

After 13 games, Kiara Wright has 164 rebounds to give her 605 for her Tarleton career and is now 17 rebounds shy of passing Ronda Edwards (621) for 9th place on the all-time list. She is rapidly climbing up the indivdual rebounding lists. Her 414 career defensive rebounds have her currently in fourth place all-time while her 191 offensive boards are good for 10th place all-time, so far. (NOTE: Rebounds were not kept as a divided statistic at Tarleton until the 1987 season.) By passing Brittnie Haley for 11th place on the list, Wright is now the second-highest rebounder in Tarleton's NCAA history - trailing only JoAnne Jones (636), who is currently eighth place on the TexAnn list. Wright has 22 career double-doubles in regular season and postseason contests - nine this season. She has scored 20 points in three games this season and six times in her career while recording her first 20-rebound game last Saturday at Midwestern State.

Last Time Out for the Zias

Eastern New Mexico played tightly contested game with Incarnate Word for the first 10 minutes Saturday in San Antonio before a 33-10 UIW run over the next 18 minutes of game play gave UIW a comfortable lead en route to a 64-39 win. The Zias failed to have a single player record double figures as Tara Johnson, Ashlee Pierson and Jaylyn Cooper led the team with seven points each.
