STEPHENVILLE -
Looking to rebound from a weekend loss, Tarleton hosts Texas Woman's Wednesday night at 6 p.m. in the second Lone Star Conference meeting of the season on autograph night in Wisdom Gym.

Under head coach Ronnie Hearne, Tarleton is 11-3 against TWU and a perfect 7-0 in Wisdom Gym against the Pioneers.

Last Time Out

The TexAnns had a rough night shooting in their last outing against West Texas A&M - hitting just 20-52 shots from the floor for a percentage of .385 - while the Lady Buffs were 28-54 for a .519 percentage. Kiara Wright and Brianna Bledsoe were the offensive bright spots for Tarleton with 16 and 14 points, respectively, while Peyton Adamson chipped in nine.

Season's Previous Meeting

Tarleton earned its first road win of the season in December when the TexAnns traveled to Denton and came away with a 72-60 win. The TexAnns shot 47 percent from the floor while holding the Pioneers to just 39 percent. Kiara Wright recorded a 22-point, 17-rebound effort while Peyton Adamson and Shanae Lowrance added 13 and 11, respectively. For TWU, three players recorded double figures - Toree Mason (14), Ria Pateraki (13), and Rebekah Cluley (12).

Wright has sights set on Tarleton history

After 15 games, Kiara Wright has 184 rebounds to give her 625 for her Tarleton career and is now 12 rebounds shy of passing JoAnne Jones (636) for 8th place on the all-time list. Passing Jones on the all-time list would make Wright Tarleton's all-time leading rebounder in the school's NCAA history. The top seven members of the list competed in the NAIA.

She is rapidly climbing up the indivdual rebounding lists. Her 429 career defensive rebounds have her currently in fourth place all-time while her 196 offensive boards are good for 10th place all-time, so far. (NOTE: Rebounds were not kept as a divided statistic at Tarleton until the 1987 season.) Wright has 23 career double-doubles in regular season and postseason contests - 10 this season. She has scored 20 points in three games this season and six times in her career while recording her first 20-rebound game at Midwestern State this season.

Injury Report: Shanae Lowrance & Karli Moore

Tarleton junior center, Shanae Lowrance, suffered an injury in the TexAnns last outing at Midwestern State. After scoring four points and grabbing two rebounds in seven minutes of action, Lowrance went down with a season-ending knee injury. In addition to the loss of Lowrance, Tarleton's post depth took another hit when Karli Moore was lost for the season with an injury to her right hand.

Honoring a wounded teammate

Following the news of Shanae Lowrance's season-ending knee injury, TexAnn teammate Kiara Wright asked to change jersey numbers for the remainder of the season - trading in her 32 for Lowrance's 33.

Offensive woes of late

Tarleton has the task of replacing two veteran players in the paint after losing 2011-12 LSC all-tournament selection Shanae Lowrance and sophomore reserve Karli Moore for the rest of the season. Over the first 13 games of the season, Tarleton was averaging 74.7 points and 39.9 rebounds while shooting .481 from the floor. Since losing Lowrance and Moore to injury, the TexAnns have scored just 61.5 points and 33.0 rebounds while shooting just .406 from the floor.

Last Time Out for the Lady Buffs

After trailing by as many as 11 points, Texas Woman's overcame a 10-point deficit in the final five minutes to win 52-50 over Cameron on a last second layup by Barbara Scott-Kolb. Toree Mason led the team with 19 points on 7-14 shooting from the floor and 4-9 shooting from downtown. Rebekah Cluley chipped in 10 points off the bench.

Looking Ahead for Tarleton

The TexAnns travel to Commerce for the first of back-to-back games against the Lions. The game time has been changed and the TexAnns are now scheduled to tip-off at 2 p.m.
