STEPHENVILLE – Coming off their fourth five-set match in the last five games, Tarleton State will head to Denton to face Texas Woman's Tuesday in a 7 p.m. rematch of Oct. 18's full-length battle.
The TWU match on October 18 in Wisdom Gym is the match that started Tarleton's run of extended matches, as the teams went the full five sets with two matches going to extra points and Tarleton eventually dropping the game.

Tarleton survived a five-set scare in Lawton, Oklahoma by taking the match from Cameron with a 16-14 victory in the fifth set. Tarleton was led by a career-best 35 digs from
Emily Klein, 23 kills by
Stacie Murrah and 62 assists from
Danielle Barker.
WHAT'S AT STAKE
The Pioneers and TexAnns are currently in a tie for third place in the Lone Star Conference standings. With the LSC Championship Tournament two weeks away, the seeds for the tournament will begin to get set in the coming weeks.
THIS SEASON'S MEETING
Tarleton and Texas Woman's met in Stephenville on October 18 in a five-set battle that went the way of the Pioneers. Tarleton went up 2-1 in the match following a 29-27 victory in the third set before falling in back-to-back sets to drop the match.
SERIES HISTORY
Texas Woman's leads the all-time series against Tarleton 30-17, including the win earlier this month. Of the 47 meetings dating back to 1978, Tarleton is 6-17 in sweeps, 0-3 in best of three matches, 6-5 in four-set matches and 5-5 in full-length games.
SETS BY THE BUNCHES
The October 18
th meeting between these two teams marked a lengthy stretch of games for the TexAnns. Including the TWU match, Tarleton has played five matches – going to five sets in four of them and playing a four-set game against St. Edward's last Tuesday. Tarleton hasn't played in three straight five-set matches since
Mary Schindler's first year as the head coach in September 2005.
BARKER'S QUEST TO BE THE BEST
Last Friday night,
Danielle Barker became the second TexAnn ever to eclipse the 3,000 mark in her career. Now she has her sights set on taking over the top spot in Tarleton's history. Barker's former teammate, Jessie Hartman, is currently the school's all-time leader in assists with 3,266. Barker currently has 3,063 in her career bringing her 203 shy of the top spot. With six regular season games left, Barker needs to average 33.83 assists per match over the rest of the regular season to secure the all-time record.
MURRAH ETCHES NAME IN TARLETON HISTORY BOOKS
Also putting her name in the history books over last weekend was
Stacie Murrah, who recorded her 1,000
th career kill Friday night against Midwestern. She became the seventh TexAnn to eclipse that mark and is currently No. 6 all-time after passing Kathy Buckler (1,012) with 1,034 kills in her career. The No. 5 spot in school history is held by Tarleton Hall of Famer Belinda Hardee with 1,261.
