STEPHENVILLE - To wrap up the Lone Star Conference's annual Rivalry Week, Tarleton will host Texas A&M-Commerce for its second straight game against the Lions. The TexAnns are a week removed from their last game when they rolled to a 28-point win over A&M-Commerce.
Tarleton leads the all-time series against the Lions 22-16, which dates back to 1981, and have won the last five meetings. Prior to TAMUC's six-game winning streak over the TexAnns from 2006-08, the Lions have never won more than two consecutive games in the series.
Under head coach Ronnie Hearne, Tarleton is 7-6 against Commerce and 3-2 against the Lions in Wisdom Gym.

Last Time Out
Tarleton center Kiara Wright followed up her career-high 34-point night with a 21-point 13-rebound effort against Texas A&M-Commerce en route to a 79-51 TexAnn victory at the Fieldhouse. Peyton Adamson also kept up her torrid pace against A&M-Commerce with 17 points.
Player of the Week
With 55 points in the last two games, Kiara Wright has earned her second LSC Offensive Player of the Week award this month - and the third honor of the season.
34-point performance
Jan. 23, Kiara Wright recorded a career high 34 points, including the game winner with 14 seconds left, to make her the sixth TexAnn in the school's 18-year NCAA history to accomplish the feat. She joins Saresa Butler (30), Jana Skelton (34, 34), Misty Wilson (33, 33), Shea Kester (36) and Tarleton Hall of Famer Rachelle Bowen (30, 49, 30, 32) to crack the 30-point plateau. Her 11-15 shooting from the field ties her for the best field goal percentage in a 30-point game in the NCAA era with her coach Misty Wilson (11-15, .733) and she is one of just two players (Skelton) to reach the mark without making or attempting a 3-point shot.
Lion Tamers
In three career meetings, Tarleton's Peyton Adamson averages 17.2 points per game in her career against Texas A&M-Commerce. In Commerce last season, she was 6-7 from the floor including 4-4 from downtown and 2-2 at the free throw line. Last Saturday, she was 6-13 from the floor and 1-4 from downtown on her way to a 17-point effort. Meanwhile, Kiara Wright recorded her first career double-double against TAMUC last Saturday. There are now just two LSC opponents against whom Wright has never recorded a double-double (Cameron and West Texas A&M).
Tarleton's best NCAA rebounder
After 17 games, Kiara Wright has 208 rebounds to give her 649 for her Tarleton career and is now in sole possession of 8th place on the all-time list and the school's leading rebounder of Tarleton's NCAA era. Wright is now nine rebounds shy of passing Karla Dick (657) - a member of this year's Hall of Fame class - for seventh on the all-time list. She is rapidly climbing up the indivdual rebounding lists. Her 449 career defensive rebounds have her currently in third place all-time while her 200 offensive boards are good for 8th place all-time, so far. (NOTE: Rebounds were not kept as a divided statistic at Tarleton until the 1987 season.) Wright has 25 career double-doubles in regular season and postseason contests - 12 this season. She has scored 20 points in five games this season and eight times in her career while recording her first 20-rebound game at Midwestern State this season as well as her first 30-point game Jan. 23.
Injury Report: Shanae Lowrance & Karli Moore
Tarleton junior center, Shanae Lowrance, suffered an injury in the TexAnns last outing at Midwestern State. After scoring four points and grabbing two rebounds in seven minutes of action, Lowrance went down with a season-ending knee injury. In addition to the loss of Lowrance, Tarleton's post depth took another hit when Karli Moore was lost for the season with an injury to her right hand.
Honoring a wounded teammate
Following the news of Shanae Lowrance's season-ending knee injury, TexAnn teammate Kiara Wright asked to change jersey numbers for the remainder of the season - trading in her 32 for Lowrance's 33.
Last Time Out for the Lady Buffs
Despite jumping out to a 9-0 lead, the Lions went down to the wire against Texas Woman's by rallying from down eight with 10 minutes left to pull out a 54-50 win over the Pioneers. Breanna Harris recorded another double-double for the Lions with 18 points and 12 rebounds while Danielle Dixon added 16 points.
Looking Ahead for Tarleton
The TexAnns remain home this Wednesday for a 6 p.m. game against Angelo State in Wisdom Gym.
