The Texans (6-4-1) won the first game 19-3 and then shutout the Patriots (5-13) 9-0 in the nightcap of Saturday's twin bill in Stephenville.

The Texans scored two runs in the top of the first inning of game two and that would end up being all they needed as Buckmaster yielded just four hits in his nine full innings of shutout baseball. He struckout six and did not walk a batter in his nine frames of work.

The Texans managed to score its first two runs of the game, again having two outs. Colten Boothe doubled and later came home to score on Moreno's RBI-single that shot through the right side of the infield. Tarleton added another two runs in the second inning to go up 4-0 and then Matt Olive drove in a run in the third inning with his sacrifice bunt, making it a 5-0 game.

Tarleton was held scoreless over the next four innings but then broke through for four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning. Olive tripled and then scored on a passed ball before Ryan Small drove in a run with his double. Small came around to score on Boothe's first career home run with the Texans.

Small went 6-for-8 at the plate and drove in seven runs on the day for the Texans. Moreno finished the day going 5-for-9 with a pair of runs batted in and Boothe was 4-for-10, driving in five runs on the day.

The Texans 19 runs in game one are the most for a Tarleton team since scoring 23 runs against Cameron in the Apr. 27 last season. Tarleton's 39 runs are the most in a three-game series ever under head coach Bryan Conger.

The Texans return to the diamond this Tuesday when they travel to face Southeastern Oklahoma in non-conference action. The Texans and Savage Storm will play a doubleheader set to get underway at noon in Durant, Okla.
