For the final time as LSC rivals, Tarleton and Abilene Christian will square off in Moody Coliseum as the TexAnns look for the regular season sweep of the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

The Tarleton-Abilene Christian rivalry dates back to 1980 when the Wildcats won the inaugural game 103-69 in Abilene on Jan. 15, 1980. Abilene Christian owns the all-time series record 27-15, but the TexAnns have won eight straight games dating back to Feb. 18, 2009.

Under head coach Ronnie Hearne, Tarleton is 11-8 against the Wildcats and 4-4 at Moody Coliseum.

Last Time Out

Tarleton never trailed in the game as they used a 40-16 run over most of the second half to coast into the win column against Angelo State Wednesday night. Four TexAnn starters - Peyton Adamson (17), Kiara Wright (15), Brianna Bledsoe (13) and Cheyenne Berry (12) - cracked double figures.

Early season meeting

A trio of TexAnns put together a night to remember when Abilene Christian came to Stephenville last December. Brianna Bledsoe poured in a career-high 16 points while Peyton Adamson led the team with 23 points and Kiara Wright scored 14 and grabbed 19 boards en route to a 78-60 victory.

Punching the Ticket

Tarleton qualified for the LSC Championship tournament for the 11th time in school history, including 10 straight under head coach Ronnie Hearne.

Adamson, Wright career against ACU

The Tarleton tandem of Peyton Adamson and Kiara Wright have dominated Abilene Christian over their respective careers. In three games, Adamson is averaging 22.3 points per game in her career against the Wildcats while Wright has recorded a double-double in three of her five career meetings. She is averaging 12.6 points and 12.8 rebounds in her career.

Setting records the Wright way

Jan. 23, Kiara Wright recorded a career high 34 points, including the game winner with 14 seconds left, to make her the sixth TexAnn in the school's 18-year NCAA history to accomplish the feat. She joins Saresa Butler (30), Jana Skelton (34, 34), Misty Wilson (33, 33), Shea Kester (36) and Tarleton Hall of Famer Rachelle Bowen (30, 49, 30, 32) to crack the 30-point plateau. Her 11-15 shooting from the field ties her for the best field goal percentage in a 30-point game in the NCAA era with her coach Misty Wilson (11-15, .733) and she is one of just two players (Skelton) to reach the mark without making or attempting a 3-point shot. Feb. 2, she recorded her second career 20-rebound game en route to the first 20-20 game in Tarleton's 18-year NCAA history. She now owns two of the four 20-rebound games for Tarleton since 1994.

Tarleton's best NCAA rebounder

After 19 games, Kiara Wright has 245 rebounds to give her 686 for her Tarleton career and is now in sole possession of 6th place on the all-time list and the school's leading rebounder of Tarleton's NCAA era. Wright is now 10 rebounds shy of passing Dianna May (695) - a Tarleton Hall of Famer - for fifth on the all-time list. She is rapidly climbing up the indivdual rebounding lists. Her 475 career defensive rebounds have her currently in third place all-time while her 211 offensive boards are good for seventh place all-time, so far. (NOTE: Rebounds were not kept as a divided statistic at Tarleton until the 1987 season.) Wright has 27 career double-doubles in regular season and postseason contests - 14 this season. She has scored 20 points in six games this season and nine times in her career while recording two 20-rebound games.

Closing in on 1,000 points

Kiara Wright and Peyton Adamson are now on the verge of becoming the 21st and 22nd players in the school history to join the 1,000 point club. Wright current has 866 career points while Peyton Adamson has tallied 720 points in her career. Adamson's older sister, Shelby, is on the list and currently the fourth-leading scorer in school history and the school's all-time NCAA scorer with 1,544.

Honoring a wounded teammate

Following the news of Shanae Lowrance's season-ending knee injury, TexAnn teammate Kiara Wright asked to change jersey numbers for the remainder of the season - trading in her 32 for Lowrance's 33.
