ON DECK
The Tarleton Texan baseball team will open-up Lone Star Conference play this weekend with a four-game set against Eastern New Mexico at Cecil Ballow Baseball Complex, which is set to get underway this Friday, Mar. 15 at 3 p.m. The Texans and Greyhounds will play a doubleheader on Saturday (1 p.m.) before closing out the series on Sunday (1 p.m.).
ABOUT THE TEXANS
• The Texans have won a season-high five consecutive games heading into the week, with its last win coming against McMurry in Abilene back on Mar. 5.
• Tarleton has averaged 10.0 runs per game during its current five-game winning streak, hitting .405 as a team with 68 hits (eight doubles, five triples, one home run).
• The Texans stole 21 bases in 27 attempts over the past five games. Tarleton currently leads the LSC with 52 stolen bases on the season.
TEXANS AT THE PLATE

Alvaro Moreno leads the Texans at the dish with a .413 batting average. He has collected 31 hits in 75 plate appearances and has a pair of doubles to go along with one home run.

ABOUT THE GREYHOUNDS
• Eastern New Mexico head coach Chris Terry is in his second season with the Greyhounds. He brings in a collective record of 25-37 into the weekend's series against the Texans. He is 0-4 against the Texans.
• ENMU leads the LSC in hitting with a team batting average of .379. The Greyhounds have a league-best 201 hits this season with 31 doubles, five triples and eight home runs.
• The Greyhounds have scored an LSC-best 132 runs this season.
• ENMU's pitching staff has a league-worst 6.91 ERA, having given up 115 runs on 158 hits. Greyhound pitchers have walked 65 batters and struck out 80 hitters so far on the season.

SERIES NOTES
• The Texans lead the all-time series 53-33-1 and have won eight consecutive games heading into the weekend.
• Tarleton has won nine out of the past 10 games and the Texans are 11-5 when playing the Greyhounds under head coach

• The Texans have swept the season series against ENMU over the past three seasons. Tarleton went 4-0 against the Greyhounds last season in Portales, N.M. Tarleton outscored the Greyhounds 53-16 in the series last season.

Alvaro Moreno was the first Texan to go yard this season, hitting a dinger into the left field seats at Houston's Minute Maid Park against Arkansas Tech.

• The Texans will face Texas Wesleyan in Fort Worth on Tuesday, Mar. 19 before returning to LSC play next weekend against West Texas A&M in Canyon.
