Box Score 2 STEPHENVILLE, Texas – The Tarleton Texans pushed its winning streak to eight consecutive games on the season and 11-straight over Eastern New Mexico with a 13-7 and 12-0 doubleheader victory over the Greyhounds at Cecil Ballow Baseball Complex in Stephenville on Saturday.

Colten Boothe and
Jared Musgrove each doubled and homered in game one for the Texans. Moreno's double in the first inning tied the game 1-1 and he later came home to score on Boothe's groundout that gave the Texans a lead it would never relinquish.
Boothe, who hit his third home run of the season, capped off a five-run second inning for the Texans with his first-career grand slam to left-center field. Musgrove hit his second home run of the season in the Tarleton third inning and Moreno led off the Texans sixth inning with his third dinger of the season.
Miguel Ramirez (3-0) picked up his third-consecutive win in as many outings, giving up just one run on three hits in five full innings of work. He walked four batters on the day, but showed his dominance on the mound with eight strikeouts as well. Ramirez now has 34 strikeouts in just 28.1 innings of work this season.
ENMU's Brett Humphries (2-2) was tagged with the loss in game one for the Greyhounds, giving up nine runs (all earned) on 11 hits in 5.0 innings on the mound. He walked four and struck out two.
Matt Buckmaster (4-1) earned his team-leading fourth victory of the season with his third complete game of the season. He yielded just four hits to the Greyhounds while earning his second shutout of the season.
Nico Moran went 4-for-5 at the plate in game two with an RBI and three runs scored. Moreno smashed his fourth home run of the season with his three-run blast in the fifth inning.
Rustin Thomas connected on his first homer of the season when he went yard with one out in the second inning.
The Texans put up a run in the first inning and another two runs in the second inning to take an early 3-0 advantage. Tarleton then put up four runs in the fourth inning and a five-spot in the fifth. ENMU went scoreless, giving the Texans the run-rule victory.
The Texans improved to 14-6-1 overall and are 3-0 in Lone Star Conference play. ENMU dropped to 11-9 overall and 0-3 in the LSC.
The two teams will resume play tomorrow with the series finale. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. in Stephenville.
