Regal Earns LSC Player of the Week Honors

RICHARDSON, Texas - Tarleton State running back Jerome Regal has been named the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week, according to a release from the league office on Monday.

Regal rushed for a career-high 251 yards and scored a pair of touchdowns, which included the game's deciding score as he helped the No. 25-ranked Texans defeat NCAA Division I FCS member, Abilene Christian, 41-34 in double overtime in Frisco on Saturday.

The sophomore running back averaged 8.1 yards per carry with a long run of 47 yards and added 33 yards on three receptions as well. His 251 rushing yards are third-most in school history as he became the school's first 200-yard rusher since 2009.

The Texans are 3-0 for the first time since 2009 and will head into this weekend's game at Eastern New Mexico with a current six-game winning streak. The Texans and Greyhounds are scheduled to kickoff at 3 p.m. (CST) from Blackwater Draw, N.M.
