Raven McGrath scored seven points off the bench for Tarleton Saturday night.
Box Score STEPHENVILLE – No. 14 Tarleton (13-2, 4-1) dropped its second game of the season Saturday night as the TexAnns fell 69-64 to Cameron.

This is the first home loss of the season for the TexAnns and the first loss since Nov. 19 at Northeastern State.

With 11:28 left in the game, Raven McGrath drained a pair of free throws to give the TexAnns their largest lead of the second half at 50-42.

However, a layup on the next possession by Cameron started a 24-14 Aggie run to ultimately give Cameron a lead in the waning seconds.

The Aggie run was capped with a 3-pointer with 23 seconds left on the clock to put Cameron up by two. Tarleton was called for an offensive foul on the next possession and missed a deep 3-pointer on their final possession.

Tarleton opened the game with the first basket from Brianna Bledsoe but neither team was able to take control from the opening tip. Tarleton trailed 9-10 over the first 6:02.

Bledsoe, however, put Tarleton up with a 3-ball to start a 9-0 Tarleton run to give the TexAnns their largest lead of the game at 18-10 with 9:47 left in the opening half. The lead would not hold, however, as the Aggies brought the score back to even and neither team led by more than three over the final 8:16 of the half.

Tarleton, who was undefeated when leading at halftime, took a one-point lead into the break. Out of the break, Tarleton battled to build the big lead but couldn't hold on down the stretch as the Aggies went on to the win.

The lead changed hands 13 times and was tied 15 times over the course of the game.

Tarleton outshot Cameron from the floor with 43 percent shooting to just 37 percent but surrendered the leads at the 3-point line and free throw line. Tarleton shot 31 percent from downtown on 4-13 shooting and 55 percent at the charity stripe on 16-29 shooting while Cameron was 7-14 and 26-33, respectively.

Tarleton won the paint scoring 32-18 but was outrebounded 33-35 and lost the battle of the benches as Cameron's reserves outscored Tarleton 30-13.

Kiara Wright led the TexAnns with 18 points and 16 rebounds while Shanae Lowrance and Kathy Thomas added 10 points each. Brianna Bledsoe and Raven McGrath scored eight and seven, respectively, while Morgan Ashmore (5) and Karli Moore (6) rounded out the scoring.
