THE GAME
Tarleton State will close out the 2014 calendar year in Wisdom Gym Tuesday at 7 p.m. with the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's newest member, South Dakota Mines.
THE BROADCAST
The game will have a live radio broadcast presented by the Tarleton Sports Network presented by North Texas Ford Dealers. The Voice of the Texans,
Casey Hogan, will be back calling the play-by-play for Tarleton basketball this season. The radio broadcast can be heard on KTRL 90.5 FM in Stephenville and surrounding areas or online at TarletonSports.com/ListenLive. The pregame show will begin 15 minutes prior to tip-off.
GAME PROMOTION
It's Dollar Dog night at Wisdom Gym. All hot dogs will be $1 in the concession stand.
THE OPPONENT
South Dakota Mines will play its first road game since Nov. 22 when the Hardrockers make their second trip to Stephenville in the 2014 calendar year Tuesday night. SDM is 3-9 on the season but earned a 97-71 win over Eastern New Mexico in its last outing on Dec. 19.
THE SERIES
This is the second meeting between these two teams all-time and the second of this year. South Dakota Mines came to Tarleton on Jan. 4, 2014 and fell in the inaugural meeting with Tarleton 79-68.
BEGINNING, ENDING WITH SDM
As the 2014 calendar year comes to a close, Tarleton State ends the year with the same opponent it started 2014 against.
ABOUT SD MINES
After playing last season as an independent, South Dakota Mines is now in its first season as a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Located in Rapid City, S.D. since being founded in 1885, SDM is home to nearly 2,800 students and offers 16 different academic departments.
UNDEFEATED START TO THE SEASON
Tarleton State has started a season 10-0 twice under head coach
Lonn Reisman - last year in the midst of a senior-college era record winning streak of 18-straight victories to open the season and this season. As long as Tarleton remains undefeated, it will continue to match only last season's season-opening streak.
TARLETON IN NATIONAL POLLS
After starting the season ranked No. 12 in the nation, Tarleton State has since moved up seven total spots to No. 5 in the latest edition of the polls after starting the season 8-0. This now marks the 22nd consecutive week in which Tarleton has appeared in the national rankings since joining the polls on Nov. 19 last season.
NABC HISTORY
Of the 90 weeks in the NABC rankings, Tarleton has spent 56 of those weeks in the top 10, 37 in the top 5 and eight weeks at No. 1.
REISMAN IN DECEMBER
Lonn Reisman enters the month of December with five games on the schedule. His all-time record for the Christmas month is 97-36 for a winning percentage of .729. He is 5-0 in December games this season.
TEXANS AT HOME
In Coach Reisman's 27 seasons at Tarleton State, the Texans have amassed a total record of 362-61 including a record of 144-13 with two undefeated home seasons since 2005.
SOME KIND OF RUN
Since the beginning of last year, Tarleton State has amassed an overall record of 38-3 for a winning percentage of .927. Only Lincoln Memorial (39-3; .929) has that few losses over that span.
LONE UNDEFEATED IN LSC
Tarleton State is the last undefeated team standing in the Lone Star Conference at 10-0.
