Box Score STEPHENVILLE – The No. 2-ranked Tarleton State Texans had four players score in double figures on the way to downing the Lubbock Christian Chaps 87-60 Tuesday night in the final regular season home contest at Wisdom Gym in Stephenville.

The Texans forced 19 turnovers that turned into 23 points and the offense dished out a combined season-high 26 assists in the 27-point non-conference victory.

De'Andre Upchurch paced the Texan offense with 19 points, while fellow starters
Davene Carter added 12 points and
Michael Hardge poured in a career-high 11 points.
Tashawn Mabry contributed 11 points off the bench and the depth of the Texans outscored the LCU bench 37-25.

The Texans improved to 24-1 overall on the season and finish the regular season with a 16-1 mark inside the friendly confines of Wisdom Gym. Tarleton is a combined 64-4 (.941) when playing in Stephenville over the previous four seasons.

The Chaps (15-8) opened the contest with a 5-0 run, but Tarleton came back with a 9-2 run to take a two-point lead. LCU would tie the game back up at 9-9 and later at 11-11, but back-to-back three-pointers from Upchurch would give the Texans a lead that it would never relinquish again.

Tarleton went up by as many as 14 points in the second half before a late LCU made it a 39-34 game at the break. The Texans responded with an 11-2 run to open the second half and never looked back.

The Chaps would only get back to within eight points of the Texans when a three-pointer made it a 52-44 game at the 13:28 mark, but the depth of Tarleton's bench, coupled with some great defense overpowered the visiting squad late in the contest.

Tarleton outscored the Chaps 48-26 in the second half and finished with the game with at least 85 points or more for the 14th time this season. The 27-point victory marked the 12th time this season that a Texan team outscored the opposition by at least 20 points or more.

Upchurch led the team in rebound for second consecutive outing, pulling down five boards, while
Coleman Furst and
Damion Clemons added four rebounds on the night.

Tarleton's
Davin Riebock and
