KINGSVILLE – The Tarleton State baseball team will open-up an eight-game road swing this weekend in Kingsville, taking on the Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelinas in a four-game set at Nolan Ryan Field.

The Texans (16-10, 7-7 LSC) and Javelinas (17-11, 10-6) will play a single game on Friday at 6 p.m., with a doubleheader to follow on Saturday at 1 p.m. The two teams will then close out the series on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Friday's game can be watched via webcast by going to http://tamuk.tv/, while the rest of series will have live stats provided by clicking here.

The Texans split last season's regular-season series with TAMUK, dropping the first pair of games at Nolan Ryan Field, but then downing the Javelinas in the final two contests. TAMUK won its only meeting between the two teams in the Lone Star Conference Tournament last season.

The Texans are coming off a series against then No. 4-ranked West Texas A&M, where they went 1-3 against the Buffs. Meanwhile, the Javelinas just downed Texas A&M International in non-conference action back on Tuesday, but are also coming off a 3-1 series win over Angelo State last weekend.

Jared Musgrove leads the Texans at the dish with a .418 batting average and Rustin Thomas follows with a clip of .384 for the season. Thomas leads both the team and the LSC with six home runs on the year. Kevin Meredith leads the squad with 18 runs batted in and 20 runs scored.

Colton Burleson leads all Texan starters with a 2.38 earned run average; while Jacob French has a team-high five win on the season. French leads the team in strikeouts as well, with 36 K's on the year.

The Texans are hitting .302 as a team and have a combined 3.76 team ERA.
