PORTALES, N.M. – The Tarleton State Texans will continue its current eight-game road swing with a three-game set against the Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds this Friday and Saturday, April 4-5 at Greyhound Field. The Lone Star Conference series will get underway on Friday at 6 p.m. (CDT).

The Texans enter the weekend 17-13 overall and 8-10 in the LSC, while the Greyhounds bring in an overall record of 16-16 to go along with a mark of 6-14 in league play.

Tarleton's lone win was a big one though, as Robert Baker pitched a complete-game four-hitter against the Javelinas. Tarleton scored just one run in the game, but it was more than enough as Baker held TAMUK without a run in his seven full innings of work.

The Texan pitching staff has an overall earned run average of 3.76 with 162 strikeouts and just 60 walks. Matt Herrick leads all players with a 0.82 ERA, while Colton Burleson leads the starters with an ERA of 3.02.

Jacob French leads the tam in both wins (5) and strikeouts (36), while Ethan Lenz tops the team in saves (6).

Tarleton is hitting .290 as a team with 53 doubles, seven triples and 16 home runs. The Texans have tallied 140 runs batted in and scored 160 runs overall on the season.

Jared Musgrove leads the team at the dish with a .426 batting average, while Rustin Thomas leads all players in hits (36), doubles (8), runs scored (22) and home runs (6). Noel Nevarez leads the team with 19 RBI and Kevein Meredith has a team-high 10 stolen bases.

Tarleton won the previous series between the two teams in Stephenville, downing the Greyhounds three games to one.
