Box Score 2 PORTALES, N.M. – The Tarleton State Texans fell to Eastern New Mexico in both games of Saturday's doubleheader, 3-2 and 4-2, in the final two games of its three game set at Greyhound Field in Portales, N.M.
The Texans led 2-0 in game one after Garret Kilgore and
Jared Musgrove score runs, but a three-run sixth inning was more than enough to give the Greyhounds the win in game one.
ENMU then took a 4-0 lead before Tarleton came back with a pair of runs in the top of the sixth inning in game two, but the Greyhounds managed to close out the game without allowing another Texan run to take the two-game set on Saturday.
The Texans fell to 17-16 overall with the losses and 8-13 in league play, while the Greyhounds improved to 19-16 and 9-14 in LSC play.
The Texans had just eight hits overall in both games and were led by
Alvaro Moreno's three hits, which included a double and four total bases.
Colton Burleson (L, 3-4) took the loss in game one giving up all three runs on nine hits, while
Kyle Gottardy (L, 2-3) took the loss in game two. Both pitchers worked complete games in the each of the two games.
The Texans will have one more road contest against Arlington Baptist this coming Tuesday before returning home to host the Angelo State Rams next weekend at Cecil Ballow Baseball Complex in Stephenville April 11-12.
