THE GAMENo. 2 Tarleton will open the 2015-16 season at home for the Texan Tip-Off Classic. The Texans play Colorado-Colorado Springs on Friday at 7 p.m. in a rematch of last season's NCAA Tournament second round. Tarleton take on Adams State on Saturday at 7 p.m.
THE OPPONENT: Colorado-Colorado SpringsThe Mountain Lions are 1-2 on the season after playing three games in California. UCCS was picked to finish fifth in the RMAC after winning the conference last season.
THE OPPONENT: ADAMS STATEThe Grizzlies were picked eighth in the RMAC preseason poll and fifth in the Mountain Division. Head coach Russ Caton is in his first season. ASU defeated Northern New Mexico College 91-80 in an exhibition game.
THE SERIES: UCCSThis is the second all-time meeting between the two schools with Tarleton winning the first game 84-62 on March 15 last season in Stephenville in the second round of the NCAA South Central Regional Tournament.
THE SERIES: ADAMS STATETarleton and Adams State have played twice prior to this season with Tarleton winning both match-ups. The Texans and Grizzlies last played in 2008 with Tarleton winning 83-55 in Stephenville. The first meeting took place in 1994 in Durango, Colo. with Tarleton winning 62-56.

The Texans received 173 total votes and 19 first-place votes, edging Midwestern State (151, 3 first-place votes) for the top honor in the preseason rankings.
