LAST TIME OUT
Despite a relentless effort, Tarleton couldn't overcome an eight-point, first-quarter deficit and the TexAnns dropped its Lone Star Conference opener at Kitty Magee Arena 72-62 to Texas Woman's Thursday night. Bailey Wipff put on a dominant performance in the loss, going for a season-high 20 points on 7-11 shooting from the floor and 4-6 from downtown.

THE OPPONENT
Cameron is also coming off a loss in its Lone Star Conference opener on New Year's Eve when the Aggies fell by 11 on the road against No. 2 West Texas A&M. This Cameron team enters Saturday's affair with a 6-4 record, including a 66-65 against Harding in the season opener. Harding was receiving votes in the national rankings to open the season. The Aggies are leaders in the LSC for 3-point percentage (.371) this season and are hitting 9.5 triples per game. Cameron has a trio of Aggies averaging just over 10 points per game, led by Brandi Leal with 10.6 points per game.

THE SERIES
Saturday marks the 28th meeting of the modern era of TexAnn basketball with Tarleton trailing the series 13-14. The Aggies have won five straight against the TexAnns by a combined 24 points. Four of the last five games in the series have been decided by five points or less.

TARLETON IN LSC HOME OPENERS
Since joining the NCAA in 1994, Tarleton is 15-6 in its first Lone Star Conference games inside the friendly confines of Wisdom Gym - which includes a 10-1 mark since 2004-05. This will be the third time that Cameron has been Tarleton's first LSC home game and the record in those previous two games is split 1-1 with Tarleton's win coming the last time it happened on Nov. 30, 2011.

APPROACHING MILESTONE MARK
Tarleton's Ikpeaku Iwobi (488) is 12 points away from becoming the second TexAnn this season to eclipse 500 career points - joining Raven McGrath, who enters Thursday's game with 520 points.

WILSON IN JANUARY
Since 2011, Misty Wilson and the Tarleton TexAnns boast a record of 33-8 in the month of January, for a winning percentage of .805.

IWOBI AGAINST THE AGGIES
Junior Ikpeaku Iwobi has two double-doubles in three career games against Cameron, both coming last season. In her last two games against Cameron, Iwobi has 24 points and 27 rebounds in 56 game minutes. She is averaging 9.3 points and 10.0 rebounds in her career against Cameron.
