STEPHENVILLE – Due to hazardous travel conditions, Tarleton State's conference-opening baseball series against Eastern New Mexico has been cancelled.
"After our track teams had to turn around and come home and more bad weather on the way, I'm not sure we could have made it there," said head coach
Bryan Conger. "Plus, their field is still covered with snow."
The Texans and Greyhounds were originally scheduled to play a four-game series over three days before a decision was made to play back-to-back doubleheaders on Sunday and Monday. The final decision to cancel was made late Saturday afternoon.
Tarleton State is scheduled to return to action in Stephenville Wednesday at 3 p.m. against St. Mary's, but the weather forecast has put that game in jeopardy. Stay tuned to TarletonSports.com and @TarletonSports on Twitter for more updates.
