THE GAMES
Tarleton State Baseball is back in Stephenville this weekend for a four-game series against Texas A&M-Kingsville as senior shortstop Evan Robinson looks to become the school's all-time leader in defensive assists.

THE BREAKDOWN
The Texans and Javelinas will open the series Friday afternoon with a nine-inning game at 3 p.m. at Cecil Ballow Complex. Saturday afternoon will boast a pair of seven-inning games in an afternoon doubleheader before the series wraps up Sunday at 1 p.m. with a single game.

THE OPPONENT
Texas A&M-Kingsville enters this weekend as the leaders of the Lone Star Conference, sitting atop the standings with an overall record of 18-9 and a league record of 12-3. However, the Javelinas enter the weekend having lost two straight after Angelo State snapped their nine-game winning streak in last weekend's series finale. Hayden Vesely leads the Javelina offense with a .360 batting average, which is the fourth-best average in the LSC, while Hayden James checks in as the ace of the Hoggie staff with a 1.83 ERA in 39.1 innings of work this season.

THE SERIES
Tarleton State and Texas A&M-Kingsville have played 102 games against each other since this rivalry started in 1994. The Texans have won 50 games against the Javelinas, including two in a three-game series in Stephenville last season.

ROBINSON'S RECORD
Evan Robinson, a four-year starter at shortstop for Tarleton State, is approaching the school's all-time record for defensive assists in his career. The sure-handed shortstop from Flower Mound enters this weekend's series with 498 career assists and is five away from passing A.J. Hall (502) as the school's all-time leader in that category. Hall played for the Texans from 1991-94.

THE QUEST FOR 200
Head coach Bryan Conger enters this weekend's series with 192 career victories as the head coach of the Texans. He is eight wins away from reaching the 200 mark that only Tarleton Hall of Fame coach, Jack Allen, has eclipsed since Tarleton reinstated baseball in 1988. Conger has the second-most wins in Tarleton's new-era history behind Allen (565) and ahead of his immediate predecessor, Trey Felan (145).

UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
The Texans will stay in Stephenville for another week as they begin the second round of Lone Star Conference action with a three-game series against Eastern New Mexico, beginning April 3 at 3 p.m.
