THE GAME
Tarleton State is set to begin its 13th Lone Star Conference Championship Tournament Thursday night in the final game of the women's quarterfinals against Texas Woman's at the Allen Event Center.

THE BROADCAST
The game will have a live radio broadcast presented by the Tarleton Sports Network presented by North Texas Ford Dealers. The Voice of the TexAnns, Keltin Wiens, will serve as the play-by-play for Tarleton basketball this season. The radio broadcast can be heard on KTRL 90.5 FM in Stephenville and surrounding areas or online at TarletonSports.com/ListenLive. The pregame show will begin 15 minutes prior to tip-off.

THE OPPONENT
The Pioneers are riding the success of a Christmas-era run, over which they surged to win eight of 10 before slowing down as they approached the finish line. The Pioneers come in to the tournament having won just three of their last seven, including a Super Bowl Sunday loss to the TexAnns in Stephenville.

THE SERIES
This will mark the 41st all-time meeting between these two schools, with Tarleton holding a 28-12 advantage in the series. The teams have met only once in Allen - last year's semifinal game in which Tarleton came out on top 61-46 to advance to the LSC Championship game.

ONE IS ENOUGH
There has only been one time in the 32-year history of this rivalry that Tarleton State has fallen to Texas Woman's more than once in a single season - and it was 20 years ago in Tarleton's debut NCAA campaign. The TexAnns lost twice to TWU in their inaugural NCAA season, but since then have not been defeated more than once in a season by the Pioneers. Tarleton dropped the first meeting to TWU this season on January 3 in Denton.

WILSON'S DEBUT SEASON
Misty Wilson's first season as head coach is one she's not likely to forget. The rookie head coach's 17 wins is the second-most all-time by any rookie TexAnn coach and the most by a first-year coach in Tarleton's NCAA era.

TARLETON IN THE LSC
Tarleton State has developed into one of the premier basketball programs in the nation, as well as within the Lone Star Conference. The TexAnns earned their first league championship in 2012 and reached the finals of the LSC Championship Tournament for the second time in three years last season. Since joining the LSC as an NCAA institution in 1994, the TexAnns have a record of 172-144 against conference foes, including five seasons - four consecutive - of over 10 conference wins.

POSTSEASON AWARDS
A trio of TexAnns were honored by the Lone Star Conference Tuesday night at the annual postseason banquet. Kathy Thomas and Ikpeaku Iwobi took all-LSC honors while Karli Moore was named Academic All-Conference.

MILESTONE WATCH
Kathy Thomas enters this game with 99 career 3-pointers made. She most recently passed Lisa Parker (94) for sole possession of ninth place all-time. She is one triple away from becoming the ninth player in school history with 100 career 3-pointers and tying Jenn Doroga and Helena Smith (100) for a three-way tie for seventh place all-time.
• With 244 career assists, Morgan Ashmore is currently all alone for 12th all-time. She is 38 away from passing Jenn Doroga (281) for 11th all-time.
Karli Moore is 12 points away from 500 in her career.

BACK-TO-BACK TROUBLES
Texas Woman's has not recorded back-to-back wins since January 22 when the Pioneers defeated No.6 Midwestern State in Wichita Falls followed by a two-point win over Eastern New Mexico in Denton four days later. The Pioneers finished the regular season with a 63-53 win over Texas A&M-Commerce on the road.

TOPS IN THE NATION
Tarleton State ranks among the nations best in multiple statistical categories, including:
• No. 24 in 3-point percentage (.368)
• No. 34 in FT percentage (.755)

ALLEN EVENT CENTER WOES
The Pioneers are 1-2 all-time when the LSC tournament is held at the Allen Event Center. Texas Woman's recorded their lone win against Texas A&M-Kingsville 68-61, before bowing out of the tournament at the hand of the TexAnnsin a 46-61 loss during last years semifinal matchup.

UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
As long as Tarleton is winning, they will continue through the LSC Tournament. If Tarleton advances to the semifinals, they will face West Texas A&M at 6 p.m. Friday night at the Allen Event Center.
