THE GAMES
Tarleton will play its final homestand of the season with a three-game series with West Texas A&M. The teams will hit the field for Game 1 at Cecil Ballow Complex on Saturday at 3 p.m. with a doubleheader on Sunday starting at 1 p.m.
 
THE OPPONENT
West Texas A&M is fourth in the first South Central Regional rankings of the season. With a 29-15 record and an 18-11 mark, the Buffalos are second in the Lone Star Conference. WT has a .278 batting average on the year with Dylan Dyson's .312 average leading all starters. The Buffalos rank second in the Lone Star Conference with a 3.56 ERA. Tyler Gibson's 2.05 ERA and 4-2 record paces the Buffalos' rotation. WT's bullpen features three pitchers with an ERA under 2.55, including Paul Lujan's 0.37 ERA in 24 1/3 innings.
 
THE SERIES
Tarleton owns the all-time series over West Texas A&M 56-43 entering the weekend series in Stephenville. The Buffalos, however, swept Tarleton in a four-game series in March. Since the WT series, Tarleton has turned the corner and gone 10-6 without losing a series.
 
REGIONAL RANKINGS
The NCAA released the first South Central regional baseball rankings and Tarleton cracks the list at No. 7 in the poll. Of the eight teams ranked in the South Central region, four come from the Lone Star Conference. West Texas A&M (28-15) sits fourth to lead all LSC teams. Angelo State (28-14) is fifth, and Texas A&M-Kingsville (26-16) ranks just ahead of Tarleton at sixth.
 
BATTING TITLE
Tarleton catcher Jonathan Schmitz continues to lead the Lone Star Conference with a .385 batting average. Angelo State's Paxton De La Garza is second with a .379 average.
 
SENIOR SACRIFICE
Senior shortstop Evan Robinson leads the Lone Star Conference with nine sacrifice bunts and six sacrifice flies. His six sac flies ranks 12th in the nation and his nine sac bunts rank 22nd.
 
SAVING THE DAY
Hunter Houston has seven saves on the season, tied for third in the Lone Star Conference. Houston has a 0.73 ERA in 24 2/3 innings this season with 28 strikeouts and only two extra-base hits allowed.
