THE GAMES
Tarleton State will wrap up the regular season with a three-game series at Texas A&M-Kingsville starting Friday, May 1. Game 1 will be at 6 p.m. and the teams will play a Saturday doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.

THE OPPONENT
A&M-Kingsville fell two spots in the South Central rankings from sixth to eighth. The Javelina's are 26-12 overall and are tied with West Texas A&M for first in the Lone Star Conference with a 20-12 league record. A&M-Kingsville has lost five straight games heading into the series with Tarleton State, but are 19-5 at Nolan Ryan Field. A&M-Kingsville ranks second in the LSC with a .283 batting average and have a league-high 61 stolen bases. Cline Andrews' .359 average leads all hitters. The Javelina's 4.82 ERA is fifth in the LSC with Ryan Benitez pacing the staff with a 4.19 ERA and 6-4 record in 73 innings.

THE SERIES
Tarleton State and Texas A&M-Kingsville have played 106 games against each other since this rivalry started in 1994. The Texans and Javelina's have split the series and each won 53 games. The Texans took 3-of-4 from the Javenlina's at Cecil Ballow Complex on March 27-29, including scoring a season-high 18 runs in a 18-1 rout in Game 3.

The Texans have their highest South Central regional ranking of the year as they moved up to No. 6 in the poll. In the first poll last week, Tarleton State opened at seventh.

The Texans are looking for their seventh straight appearance in the LSC Tournament – all under head coach
Bryan Conger. Tarleton currently holds a three-game lead over Eastern New Mexico for the final spot in the LSC Tournament and needs one win over the Javelina's to clinch a postseason berth.

UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
If the Texans clinch a playoff spot, the Lone Star Conference tournament will be held at the site of the conference regular season champion. With three teams in contention for the title, the site has not yet been determined.
