THE GAMES
Tarleton Baseball heads to San Angelo for a four-game series with the Angelo State Rams starting Friday, April 10 at 6:30 p.m. Saturday's doubleheader starts at 4 p.m. and the series will conclude on Sunday with the first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m.

THE OPPONENT
Angelo is 24-10 on the season and ranks third in the Lone Star Conference with a 13-9 record. The Rams have won four in a row and are coming off a three-game sweep at Cameron. Angelo leads the Lone Star Conference with a .302 batting average and a 2.86 ERA. Paxton De La Garza's .386 average is tops for all Rams hitters and Blake Bass anchors the pitching with a 7-1 record and a 2.53 ERA.

LAST MEETING
The Texans lost 2 of 3 to the Rams at the Cecil Ballow Baseball Complex back on March 7-8. The Texans won a pitcher's duel 3-1 in Game 3 behind Alec Humphreys' two-run double in the sixth.

THE QUEST FOR 200
Head coach Bryan Conger enters this weekend's series with 197 career victories as the head coach of the Texans. He is three wins away from reaching the 200 mark that only Tarleton Hall of Fame coach, Jack Allen, has eclipsed since Tarleton reinstated baseball in 1988. Conger has the second-most wins in Tarleton's new-era history behind Allen (565) and ahead of his immediate predecessor, Trey Felan (145).

ALWAYS ON BASE
Tarleton catcher Jonathan Schmitz continues to sit atop the offensive leaderboard in the Lone Star Conference, leading with his .500 on-base percentage and .386 batting average.

TAKING THE EXTRA BAG
Landon Merka is tied for the Lone Star Conference lead with four triples. Merka has three triples in his last six games.

PURPLE POWER
Kevin Meredith leads the Lone Star Conference with six home runs this season. The Texans are 4-1 in games Meredith homers.

UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
The Texans continue their seven-game road trip with a three-game series at Cameron. Tarleton will head to Lawton, Okla. starting April 17.
