THE GAMES
After a historic run through the NCAA South Central Region 1 Tournament in Canyon last weekend, Tarleton State Softball is headed to San Antonio for its first appearance in the NCAA South Central Super Regional Series against No. 2-seed St. Mary's Friday and Saturday.

THE SERIES
The Super Regional Series is a three-game series between the winner of the South Central Region 1 and Region 2 winners with the winner advancing to the Division II College World Series in Oklahoma City. The Super Regional is a best-of-three series, beginning Friday at 5 p.m. and wrapping up Saturday afternoon with games at 12 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. The 2:30 p.m. game will only be played if each team wins one of the first two games.

THE BROADCAST
The game will have a live radio broadcast presented by the Tarleton Sports Network presented by North Texas Ford Dealers. The Voice of the TexAnns, Keltin Wiens, will serve as the play-by-play for Tarleton softball this postseason while Casey Hogan will join the show for color commentary. The radio broadcast can be heard on KTRL 90.5 FM in Stephenville and surrounding areas or online at TarletonSports.com/ListenLive. The pregame show will begin 15 minutes prior to first pitch.

RELIVING THE REGIONAL
Tarleton State is coming off its first regional championship by sweeping the Region 1 field, including an upset of the reigning national champion and tournament host West Texas A&M on Friday night. The TexAnns defeated the No. 3 Lady Buffs in a 2-1 pitchers' duel, which was capped off by a swinging strikeout of Kaisha Dacosin by Tarleton's Shelby Hedrick to begin the celebration. After a second-round win over Cameron to advance to the title game, Tarleton met the Aggies once again with the championship on the line. Hedrick drove in six RBIs at the plate and pitched three innings of stellar relief as Tarleton won in walk-off fashion 11-3 to advance to this weekend.

BRINGING IT BACK… AND PUSHING FORWARD
Tarleton State is back in the NCAA playoffs for the fourth time in school history and first time since 2007. After last weekend's sweep of the tournament field, the TexAnns boast an all-time record of 9-6 in NCAA playoff games.

THE OPPONENT
Tarleton State will square off with No. 7 St. Mary's in San Antonio with a trip to the World Series on the line. The all-time series between the TexAnns and Rattlers is tied at 30-30 since the series began in 1998, with 13 wins in 27 meetings in San Antonio. The teams met twice in February at the St. Mary's Invitational with the Rattlers winning both games by a combined score of 16-6.

UP NEXT
The winner of the is Super Regional Series will advance to next weekend's NCAA Division II College World Series, which is an eight-team tournament consisting of the eight regional winners from around the country. The World Series will be played at the ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
