THE GAME
Tarleton will host Angelo State in a Lone Star Conference women's basketball battle in Wisdom Gym Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
 
GAME DAY PROMOTIONS
Tarleton Athletics is offering $1 hot dogs in the concession stands for both the men's and women's games.
 
THE BROADCAST
The game will have a live radio broadcast presented by the Tarleton Sports Network presented by North Texas Ford Dealers. The Voice of the TexAnns, Keltin Wiens, will serve as the play-by-play this season. The radio broadcast can be heard on KTRL 90.5 FM in Stephenville and surrounding areas or online at TarletonSports.com/ListenLive. The pregame show will begin 15 minutes prior to tip-off.
 
LAST TIME OUT
Tarleton fell to Cameron 83-71 on Jan. 2. Bailey Wipff (18) and Ikpeaku Iwobi (13) combined for 31 points but the TexAnns were outscored 47-30 in the second half.
 
THE OPPONENT
Angelo State is playing its Lone Star Conference opener and comes in with a 7-3 record. The Rambelles won their last game 107-66 over McMurry. ASU leads the LSC in scoring offense with 85.1 points per game with Taylor Dorsey's 19.3 points per game leading all scorers.
 
THE SERIES
The TexAnns lead the all-time series against Angelo State 27-21. Tarleton has won the last two meetings and six of the last seven games. The TexAnns, who are 16-6 all time at home against the Rambelles, have won the last nine games at Wisdom Gym and haven't lost at home to ASU since an February 6, 2006 in overtime.
 
TAKING THE FREEBIES
Tarleton enters Wednesday's game as the No. 7 team in the nation in free throw percentage. The TexAnns lead the Lone Star Conference with a 77.9 percentage at the charity stripe. Tarleton is 180-231 on free throws this season.
 
JOINING THE 500 CLUB
Tarleton's Ikpeaku Iwobi (501) became the second TexAnn this season to eclipse 500 career points - joining Raven McGrath, who enters Wednesday's game with 520 points.
  
TEXANNS VS ASU
Raven McGrath and Ikpeaku Iwobi helped lead the TexAnns to a pair of wins over the Rambelles last season with McGrath averaging 11.5 points, 3 assists and 2 steals in the games and Iwobi averaging 7 points, 10 rebounds and 2 steals.
 
TEXANN HALL OF FAME INDUCTIONS
Tarleton women's basketball also had a historic day on Tuesday when two members of TexAnn history were named to the Tarleton Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2016 - Katie Crawford and former head coach Ronnie Hearne.
 
UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
Tarleton will hit the road for Kingsville this weekend for a Saturday night bout with the Javelinas at the Steinke Center at 6 p.m.
