STEPHENVILLE – No. 11 Tarleton will head into the new year on a nine-game winning streak after topping Ouachita Baptist 87-68 on New Years Eve in Wisdom Gym.

The Texans (12-1) were led by
Ridell Camidge's game-high 23 points as four Texans topped double figures in the game.

Ouachita Baptist (4-4) held a 30-24 first-half lead with 4:33 remaining before Camidge's 3-point basket started a 13-0 run over a 3-minute span. The Texans forced five turnovers that led to transition buckets, including a steal by
Chantz Chambers in the backcourt and dished the ball to
Romond Jenkins for an easy two-handed dunk. A
Deshawn Riddick corner 3-pointer led to an OBU timeout with Tarleton now leading 36-30 with 2:33 left.

Jenkins finished with his third straight double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds. Jenkins leads the nation in total rebounds with 154 and also in double-doubles with eight, as Tarleton improved to 8-0 when Jenkins records a double-double.

The Texans led 37-33 at the break while shooting 42 percent from the floor opposed to the Tigers' 50 percent.

The Texans found their shooting stroke from behind the arc to open the second half as Riddick, Chambers and Camidge all drilled 3-pointers in a 2-minute stretch that gave Tarleton a 52-39 lead. Camdige (5-7), Chambers (2-4) and Riddick (2-2) made all of Tarleton's 3-pointers in the game.

Tarleton's lead stretched to 20 at 59-39 on Chambers' put back layup. Chambers finished with 15 points, five assists and had a game-high three steals.

Camidge went on a 9-0 run of his own by drilling three 3-pointers and the last one gave the Texans a 30-point advantage. Camdige scored 16 of his 23 points in the second half for his third career 20-point game.

Brandon Willis made his Tarleton debut by getting a defensive rebound and going coast-to-coast and finishing the layup and drawing the foul in the midst of a 15-0 Texan run.
Kealon Clayborne scored 10 of his career-high 11 points in the second half while also pulling down five rebounds. Clayborne's last field goal gave Tarleton its biggest lead of the game at 80-45 with 5:57 left.

Tarleton's 19-point win marked the seventh double-digit victory during the 9-game winning streak. The Texans are outscoring opponents 82-62 during the sterak.

Anthony Davis and
Deshawn Riddick each scored six points while
Curtiss Anderson had five points and four rebounds in 11 minutes off the bench.
Josh Hawley added four points and
Nosa Ebomwonyi scored three to round out the Tarleton scoring.

The Texans finished the game shooting 52 percent from the floor, 43 percent (9-21) on 3-pointers, and 72 percent from the free-throw line.

Tarleton will travel to San Angelo to take on No. 7 Angelo State (10-0) on Thurdsay, Jan. 5 at 7:30 p.m.
