THE GAME
Tarleton returns home to face Texas A&M-Kingsville on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 7 p.m.
 
THE BROADCAST
Each game will have a live radio broadcast presented by the Tarleton Sports Network presented by North Texas Ford Dealers. The Voice of the Texans, Casey Hogan, will be back calling the play-by-play for Tarleton basketball this season. LAST TIME OUT
Tarleton fell on the road to No. 20 Angelo State in double overtime, 87-86.
 
THE OPPONENT: TEXAS A&M-KINGSVILLE
Texas A&M-Kingsville is 10-11 overall and at the bottom of the Lone Star Conference with a 2-8 record. The Javelinas defeated A&M-Commerce on Wednesday to snap a 6-game losing streak. TAMUK is 0-5 on the road in LSC play this season. The Javelina's are last in the LSC with 65.2 points per game but third in points allowed with 69.7 (Tarleton is first at 65.4). TAMUK is led by Troy Jones' 12.5 points per game.
 
THE SERIES: TEXAS A&M-KINGSVILLE
In the Lonn Reisman era (1988), Tarleton is 33-12 against TAMUK and 37-22 all time since the series began in 1969. Tarleton won the last meeting 50-47 in Kingsville. Tarleton has won five straight against TAMUK and 13 of 14. Tarleton has won six straight at home against TAMUK and the Javelinas have won at Wisdom Gym since 2009.
 
WINNING SEASONS
At 16-7 this season, Tarleton has guaranteed themselves a winning record. Lonn Reisman has now guided Tarleton to 15 straight winning seasons in the NCAA era, and 19 out of 20. Tarleton has finished at least .500 or better in 20 straight seasons.
 
CLIMBING UP THE RECORD CHART
4-year Texan Michael Hardge, who has 308 career assists, passed Marcus Jacobs for 7th all time. Hardge needs 2 assists to pass Tracy Guy for 6th place. Hardge's 111 steals rank 9th all time and needs 3 steals to pass Jim Moreno for 8th all time.
 
SINGLE SEASON SWATS
Xavier Smith has 47 blocks in his first season with Tarleton. The junior forward is tied with Tarleton Hall of Famer Jeffrey McFadden for 14th on the single-season blocks list. Vincent Bridgewater holds the record with 81.
 
MILESTONE WATCH

Michael Hardge leads the LSC in assists at 4.9 per game. Hardge would join Chuck Guy (6.1 in 13-14) and Chris Reisman (6.08 in 00-01) as the only Texans to do so since 2000. Hardge is also 2nd in the LSC in steals at 1.7 per game. Hardge would become the first Texan to lead the LSC in steals since the LSC stats became available in 1999.
 
MORE ELITE COMPANY…
Michael Hardge is one point away from 850 career points. Hardge is looking to become one of three Tarleton players ever to record 850 points, 300 assists (Hardge has 308), 200 rebounds (213), and 110 steals (111). The senior guard would join Tarleton Hall of Famers Mark Smith and Ryan Huntley.
 
DOUBLE-DIGIT SCORERS
Tarleton has four players averaging at least 10 points per game in EJ Reed (18.3), Charles Hill (13.1), Michael Hardge (11.3) and Malcolm Hamilton (10.5). It's the first time since 2010-11 that the Texan have four double-digit scorers when Devon Hills (13.0), Effran Bryant (12.1), Corin Henry (11.8) and Jeremiah Wilson (10.8) did so.
 
UNCHARTED TERRITORY
Tarleton is in the midst of a 2-game losing streak for the first time since 2013. During that stretch, Tarleton went 14-0 after a loss, which spans over 104 games.
 
CLIMBING THE ALL-TIME WINS LIST
Reisman comes into the game with 605 wins. Reisman became the 6th active Division II head coach with 600 career wins and the 16th Division II coach to win 600 games in a career. Reisman passed Dave Boots (Ausburg, 603 wins) for 15th on the all-time wins list. Reisman needs 14 wins to pass Tom Smith (Mo. Western State) for 14th all time.
