LAWTON, Okla. – Tarleton fell on the road to Cameron 73-57 to drop to 5-4 in the Lone Star Conference.

The Texans struggled shooting the ball, managing only 35 percent from the floor opposed to Cameron's 50 percent for the game and 60 percent in the second half.

Tarleton (16-6) held an early 7-4 lead after a layup from
Romond Jenkins with 16:20 left in the first half. It was the last lead the Texans would have in the game.

Cameron would lead by as much as 12 points in the first half and went on separate runs of 7-0 and 8-0. However, Tarleton would have a few runs of its own when
EJ Reed drained a 3-pointer with four minutes left in the half that capped off a 7-0 Texan run to cut the deficit to 27-22. Reed finished with seven points and five rebounds.

Cameron led 31-24 at halftime but Tarleton came out in attack mode at the start of the second half by going on a 7-0 run to pull to within 42-38 on an and-1 layup by
Xavier Smith. Smith scored eight points off the bench and blocked a team-high two shots. The Aggies would start to heat up from behind the arc and hit three 3-pointers in the final five minutes to build its biggest lead at 69-52 in the final minute.

Michael Hardge was the only Tarleton player to score in double figures, finishing with 15 points and two assists.
Charles Hill scored eight points with three rebounds.
Malcolm Hamilton and
Deshawn Riddick each scored seven points.

Tarleton was outrebounded 38-25 on the game, the lowest rebound total for the Texans this season. Tarleton came into the game ranked third in the NCAA in rebounding margin at +9.2.

Tarleton will look to change its fortune on the road after falling to 1-3 away from Wisdom Gym this season when the Texans travel to Angelo State on Wednesday, Feb. 10 at 7:30 p.m.
