THE SERIES
Tarleton will make its second straight Lone Star Conference road trip as the Texans head to Texas A&M-Kingsville to take on the Javelinas for a 4-game series starting Friday, March 25. Tarleton will play a pair of doubleheaders with Friday's first game starting at 3 p.m. and Saturday's starting at 1 p.m.
THE OPPONENT
A&M-Kingsville is 17-7 on the season and tied for first in the Lone Star Conference with an 8-4 record. The Javelinas are 9-4 at home this season and have won six of their last seven games. TAMUK is led by Ruben Almaguer's .367 average and team-high 28 RBIs this season. Sebi Palacios fronts the Javelinas' pitching staff with a 2.59 ERA and 29 strikeouts in four starts.
THE SERIES
Tarleton trails the all-time series with TAMUK, 54-56. The Texans are 16-31 when playing in Kingsville. Tarleton won the last meeting against the Javelinas in Kingsville, 9-3, in the Lone Star Conference tournament.
LAST TIME OUT
Tarleton lost three of four on the road against Cameron last weekend. All four games were decided by three runs or less. Tarleton took game two, 5-3, when
Jacob French went five innings and gave up one earned run to earn his second win of the season.
UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
The Texans return home for the first time in two weeks when they take on Angelo State for a 4-game series starting April 1 in a 1-2-1 series format.
