Tarleton looks to build off of last week's performance against Southwest Baptist where the Texans fell 31-28 on a last-second field by the Bobcats. The Texans are averaging 15.5 points per game and 264 yards of offense per game, but put up 394 offensive yards last week. Tarleton is 6-0 in LSC openers under head coach

ABOUT THE RAMS
Angelo State is 1-1 on the year and is coming off a 47-41 three overtime win over Northern Michigan. The Rams are averaging 33 ponits per game while giving up 37 points. The Rams' offensive is averaging 350 yards per game and surrendering 387.5 yards to opponents. Josh Stevens is the primary running back for ASU, gaining 175 yards and finding the end zone once. Quarterback Jake Faber, who has 301 yards and one touchdown to go with four interceptions, will look to throw to a variety of receivers, with three wide outs totaling at least five receptions and Donovan Thompson leading all receivers with eight catches and 77 yards.

SERIES HISTORY
This is the 33
rd career meeting between Tarleton and Angelo State, with the teams splitting the series 16-16 leading into this weekend. Angelo State has won the last two match ups since Tarleton won 12 straight from 2001 to 2013. Whitten is 4-1 in his career against Angelo State and 3-0 at home against the Rams.
