STEPHENVILLE – Tarleton volleyball continued its dominating start to Lone Star Conference play with its second straight sweep, this time over Texas Woman's (25-14, 25-20, 25-18) on Saturday afternoon in the Wisdom Volleyball Gym.

Tarleton improves to 9-1 on the season and 2-0 in the LSC. The TexAnns have swept six of their 10 matches.

The TexAnns opened the match on a 3-0 run led by two straight aces from
Rebecca Schlorff and they never let up. Leading 13-12, Tarleton went on a commanding 13-3 run – including a 6-0 mark to close out the set –  with kills from
Hailey Roberts,
Hannah McManus,
Abby Mackey and
Alissa Johnson. Tarleton had a .257 hitting percentage in the opening set compared to TWU's .029 mark.

Tarleton and Texas Woman's split the first eight points of the second set before
Chandler Gow and Mackey powered down a pair of kills to highlight a 4-0 run and take an 8-5 lead. Tarleton would build its lead up to six at 17-11 on kills from Roberts and Gow that led to Texas Woman's taking a timeout. The Pioneers worked the set back to a three-point game at 22-19 but the TexAnns closed on a 3-1 run with
Jordyn Keamo putting the finishing touches on the set with one of her four aces.

An early 4-0 run in the third set helped separate Tarleton from Texas Woman's and lead 10-6. Roberts added three straight kills for a 16-10 advantage and would go on to win the set 25-18 after TWU had three consecutive errors to end the match. Tarleton had a .303 hitting percentage in the final frame while TWU managed to only record a .029 percentage.

Roberts led all players with 18 kills in the match and had eight digs.
Abby Mackey set a new career high with 12 kills and had a team-best .360 hitting percentage.
Chandler Gow and
Hannah McManus each provided five kills for the balanced TexAnn offense.
Jordyn Keamo had 34 assists, topping the 30-assists mark for the ninth straight game.

Defensively
Adrianna Knutson had a game-high 18 digs for the TexAnns.
Michaela Rodriguez added nine digs and two service aces.

The TexAnns will host No. 8-ranked Angelo State on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. in the Wisdom Volleyball Gym.Â
