THE GAME
It's homecoming week at Tarleton State University and the Texans are back at Memorial Stadium for a 6 p.m. kickoff in a Super Region IV showdown against Western Oregon.

ABOUT THE TEXANS
Tarleton is 5-3 on the season and 4-2 in the Lone Star Conference and are looking to continue the momentum from a 41-34 win over Texas A&M-Kingsville on ESPN3 last weekend. Tarleton is averaging 29.6 points per game on 351.8 yards of offense. Quarterback Zed Woerner has thrown for 1,659 yards and 14 touchdowns in eight games. Jeff Thomas leads the Texan receivers with 639 yards on 42 catches with five touchdowns, while Del'Michael High has 568 yards on 38 catches with three scores. Xavier Turner leads the team with 430 rushing yards and five touchdowns on the ground. Defensively, the Texans give up an average of 26.4 points on 428.6 yards per game. Basil Jackson leads the team in tackles with 82.
 
ABOUT THE WOLVES
Western Oregon comes into this week's game with a 2-6 overall mark, including a 1-5 record in Great Northwest Athletic Conference play. Under 13th year head coach Arne Ferguson, the Wolves are averaging 33.2 points per game on 380.9 yards of total offense per game over the first eight contests. Nick Duckworth is the Wolves' top passer with 1,794 yards and 16 touchdowns while Paul Revis leads the team with 910 yards receiving. Taylor Poyadue leads the rushing game with 295 yards on 54 carries and one touchdown. Defensively, Bo Highburger leads the Wolves with 48.5 tackles.
 
SERIES HISTORY
This is the first-ever meeting between Tarleton and Western Oregon. Western Oregon is a member of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference and is in Monmouth, Oregon. With a new NCAA realignment, this game now qualifies as an in-region contest for the Texans.
 
UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
Tarleton will return to Lone Star Conference action next Saturday as the Texans travel to Wichita Falls for a 2 p.m. showdown with Midwestern State.
