STEPHENVILLE – Tarleton dropped the final game of its four-game non-conference series to West Texas A&M Sunday afternoon 13-4 at the Cecil Ballow Baseball Complex.
 
West Texas A&M came out with a three spot in the first inning before Conner Fletcher calmed things down out of the Tarleton bullpen. Fletcher threw 3.1 innings and allowed three runs – only one earned – while striking out a pair.
 
Meanwhile, Tarleton started to chip back into it with a solo homer from Dylan Lemons in the first and an RBI single from Austin Call in the third to bring the Texans within one at 3-2.
 
WT tacked on one in the fifth, which Tarleton abruptly answered with a run off a West Texas error in the ensuing half inning to keep it a one-run game through five. A four spot in the WT sixth, however, opened the flood gates and was the start of nine runs over the final four innings while the Texans only added an Austin Call solo home run in the eighth.
 
Call was 2-for-4 on the day while Blake Adams, Lemons, Jon Tauzin, and Hunter Seales provided the rest of the Tarleton offense.
 
The Texans will be back in action Wednesday to host St. Mary's for a single game at 3 p.m.
