ABOUT THE TEAMS
Tarleton is coming off its first series loss of the season after dropping three of four in a non-conference series against West Texas A&M in Stephenville last weekend. The Texans still boast a record of 11-5 this season and are hitting .287 as a team. Nathan Hickey leads the Texans from the mound with a 1.93 ERA in a team high 23.1 innings of work with 16 strikeouts. Meanwhile, St. Mary's makes its annual mid-week trip to Stephenville looking to turn around a 6-10 start. The Rattlers come in hitting .305 as a team with a team ERA of 5.45, led by Holden Grounds with a 1.76 ERA in 30.2 innings of work.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Tarleton and St. Mary's have already met four times this season with the Texans coming out on top in three to bring the all-time record to 39-21, in favor of the Rattlers dating back to the first-ever meeting in 1992. With three wins over St. Mary's already this season, the Texans have won the regular season series against St. Mary's for the first time since taking three of four in 2015.

UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
The Texans will play their final non-conference series against a familiar rival when Tarleton visits Cameron for four non-league games in Lawton this weekend, beginning Friday at 3 p.m.
