THE GAME
After winning its Lone Star Conference opener with an impressive road win over Angelo State, Tarleton returns home to take on rival West Texas A&M at 7 p.m. on Family Weekend. The Texans are in the midst of a two-game winning streak after dropping the season opener.
 
GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY
In a special pregame ceremony, Tarleton State University President Dr. F. Dominic Dottavio will be joined on the field by Athletic Director Lonn Reisman and Texas A&M University System Chancellor John Sharp for a special groundbreaking to signify the start of construction on the new home side within the Memorial Stadium Renovation Project.

ABOUT THE TEXANS
Tarleton is 2-1 on the season and 1-0 in the Lone Star Conference after a 30-24 win over Angelo State where the Texan defense forced five turnovers and returning two fumbles for scores. Tarleton is averaged 31 points per game on 343 yards of offense. Quarterback Zed Woerner has thrown for 408 yards and five touchdowns in three games. Del'Michael High leads the Texan receivers with 222 yards on 11 catches with a touchdown, while Jeff Thomas and Savon Rollison each have two touchdowns. Adam Berryman has 200 yards rushing and three touchdowns as the top Texan running back. Defensively, the Texans give up an average of 26 points on 440 yards per game. Basil Jackson leads the LSC in tackles with 45.
 
ABOUT THE BUFFS
West Texas A&M is 2-1 overall and 1-0 in the LSC. The Buffs are coming off a 17-6 win at home against UT Permian Basin. They've also knocked off No. 7 Colorado State-Pueblo, 24-21, in week two. WT is averaging 18 points per game on 254 yards of offense. The Buffs' quarterbacks have combined for 324 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. WT's running game is led by Warren Witherspoon's 217 yards, while Jordan Johnson has 103 yards rushing and two touchdowns. WT's defense is giving up 312 yards and 17 points per game to opponents. WT's leading tackler is Daelin Young with 21 and four sacks. Isaiah Barnett and Kevon Thomas each have two interceptions.
 
SERIES HISTORY
This is the 27th career meeting between Tarleton and West Texas A&M dating back to 1990. The Buffs lead the all-time series 11-15, including wins in the last two games. Tarleton hasn't played WT at home since 2013, where the Texans stormed back to upset the then-No. 4-Buffs, 31-27. The Texans outscored the Buffs 28-0 in the second half comeback.

Tarleton will hit the road to take on UT Permian Basin on Saturday, Sept. 30 at 6 p.m. at Ratliff Stadium.
