THE GAME
Tarleton men's basketball closes out the first half of Lone Star Conference play as the Texans travel to No. 7 West Texas A&M and No. 11 UT Permian Basin. The Texans will play the Buffs on Thursday, Jan. 18 at 7:30 p.m. and the Falcons on Saturday, Jan. 20 at 4 p.m.
THE BROADCAST:
Each game will have a live radio broadcast presented by the Tarleton Sports Network presented by North Texas Ford Dealers. The Voice of the Texans, Byron Anderson, will be calling the play-by-play for Tarleton basketball this season. ABOUT THE BUFFS:
West Texas A&M enters the game ranked No. 7 in the NABC poll with a 16-1 record and 6-1 in the LSC. The Buffs have won eight straight games and are 8-0 at home. WT is averaging 89.3 points and holding teams to 74 points. WT has four players averaging double figures in points, led by David Chavlovich's 20.4 points.
THE SERIES: WEST TEXAS A&M
Tarleton and West Texas A&M are meeting for the 50th time in program history, with WT leading the series 25-24. The Texans have won eight of the last 10 games, but are 5-16 all time in Canyon.
ABOUT THE FALCONS:
UT Permian Basin enters the game ranked No. 11 in the NABC poll with a 14-2 record and 6-1 in the LSC. The Falcons are 9-0 at home this season. UTPB leads the LSC with 90.2 points per game and also hold teams to 76.2 points. UTPB has four players averaging double figures, led by Daeshon Francis' 20.8 points.
THE SERIES: UT PERMIAN BASIN
Tarleton and UTPB are meeting for the ninth time in program history, with the Texans leading the series 6-2. UTPB has won the last two games, both last season. Tarleton is 0-1 all time in Odessa.
LAST TIME OUT
Tarleton defeated Arlington Baptist, 103-52, to improve to 9-7 on the season. The Texans were led by Josh Hawley's 21 points in the game.
