TEXAN BASKETBALL GAME DAY: Thursday, Saturday vs. Texas A&M-Kingsville, Angelo State

Texans welcome Javelinas, Rams to Wisdom Gym to open Lone Star Conference play

THE GAMES
Tarleton men's basketball will open Lone Star Conference play at home as the Texans are set to take on Texas A&M-Kingsville on Thursday, Nov. 29 at 7:30 p.m. and Angelo State on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 4 p.m. in Wisdom Gym.
 
GAME PROMOTIONS: THURSDAY vs KINGSVILLE
Thursday will be Greek Night in Wisdom Gym. Tarleton Athletics will be recognizing all the members of our Greek organizations during the game. It will also be Faculty/Staff Appreciation Night and all members of the Tarleton faculty and staff members will receive free admission to the game with ID. Texas Twisters will also be performing at halftime.
 
GAME PROMOTIONS: SATURDAY vs ANGELO STATE
Saturday will be Optimist Club 'Toys for Kids' Day at Wisdom Gym. Anyone who makes a toy donation will receive free admission – one per toy. Santa Claus will also be on hand for photos in the lobby. In addition to the holiday festivities, it will also be Hico Night. All residents of Hico will receive free admission with ID and the Hico Cheer teams and Hico Hoopsters will perform at halftime.
 
THE BROADCAST
Each game will have a live radio broadcast presented by the Tarleton Sports Network presented by North Texas Ford Dealers. The Voice of the Texans Byron Anderson will have the call for Tarleton basketball this season. The radio broadcast can be heard on KTRL 90.5 FM in Stephenville and surrounding areas or online at TarletonSports.com/ListenLive.
 
ABOUT TARLETON:
The Texans are 451 on the season and are averaging 84.2 points per game while holding teams to 75.8 points. The Texans shoot 48 percent from the floor and 40 percent on 3-pointers. Tarleton has four players averaging double figures with Corinthian Ramsey leading all players with 17.8 points. Josh Hawley averaged 15.0 points, Randall Broddie puts up 11.2 points a night and Preston Enloe averages 11.0. Hawley leads the team with 11.4 rebounds and has four double-doubles in six games.
 
ABOUT TEXAS A&M-KINGSVILLE:
Texas A&M-Kingsville comes in at 3-2 on the season. The Javelinas average 64.6 points and hold teams to 59.8 points. The Javelinas shoot 39.6 percent from the floor and 25 percent on 3-pointers. TAMUK is led by Jamell Bradley's 8.6 points while Robert Stevenson grabs a team-leading 7 rebounds a game. Tarleton is 37-13 all time against A&M-Kingsville, including 24-3 in Wisdom Gym.
 
ABOUT ANGELO STATE:
Angelo State enters the weekend 5-1 on the season. The Rams are averaging 86 points and holding teams to 70.7 points. ASU also shoots 45.6 percent from the floor and 32.6 on 3-pointers. The Rams have three players in double figures scoring, led by Ronald Bell's 16.5 points and also leads the team with 7.3 rebounds. Tarleton is 35-16 all time against Angelo State, including 20-3 in Widom Gym.

The Texans will take a break from LSC play to host Arlington Baptist on Wednesday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. in Wisdom Gym.
