STEPHENVILLE – Tarleton Women's Basketball coasted past Hardin-Simmons in its final exhibition game of the preseason with an 82-37 victory on Saturday in Wisdom Gym.
The TexAnns shot 45 percent from the floor and made 8-of-17 3-point attempts against the Cowgirls.
Kaylee Allen led all scorers with 17 points (8-of-12) in just 20 minutes.
McKinley Bostad also topped double figures with 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists.
Tarleton jumped out a double-digit lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Eight of Tarleton's 19 first-quarter points came at the free throw line. It was a trend of the game as the TexAnns shot an efficient 20-of-26 from the free-throw line.
Taking a 19-10 lead into the second quarter, Tarleton outscored Hardin-Simmons 20-8 in the second period for a commanding 21-point lead at the break.
The TexAnns used a 24-0 run between the end of the second quarter and the start of the third to go up 51-18. Hardin-Simmons had 24 turnovers, which resulted into 24 Tarleton points. Full official stats are not released in exhibition play.
All 12 TexAnns that played scored.
Mackenzie Hailey posted nine points and led with six rebounds. Destiny Winkfield also scored nine points.
