THE LAST TIME OUT
Tarleton put together its top offensive night of the season Wednesday in Wisdom Gym as the TexAnns pounded Arlington Baptist 98-66 for their sixth win over the first eight games. The TexAnns had five players score in double digits, including Nina Alvarez and Destiney Winkfield off the bench with career-high performances. Alvarez scored 12 while Winkfield added 11. The duo combined to shoot 8-13 off the bench for the game and each had four assists. Mackenzie Hailey led all scorers with 17 points while Allen scored 16 and Webster chipped in 10. McKinley Bostad filled up the stat sheet in a near-triple-double performance with nine points, eight assists, and seven rebounds. Marissa Escamilla (9), Hannah Hyde (1), Lucy Benson (2), Kylie Collins (3), and Kandyn Faurie – who also had a new career high with eight points – rounded out the scoring. For Hailey, the 17-point performance marked the 60th double-figure scoring performance of her career.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Tarleton and St. Edward's have a rich history that dates back to 1985 when the teams first met on the hardwood. From 1985 to 2011, the teams played each other 33 times with Tarleton winning 15. The Hilltoppers dominated the series from 1985 to 2002 by winning 18 of the first 22 meetings, but a 49-48 win for Tarleton on Dec. 17, 2002 – a game in which St. Edward's missed two free throws with one second on the clock – turned the tide in Tarleton's favor. That win was the first of 11 consecutive Tarleton victories against St. Edward's through 2011. The 2011 meeting was the last between the TexAnns and Hilltoppers.

UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
Tarleton will be back in Wisdom Gym for their last showdown before Christmas when the TexAnns host Arkansas-Fort Smith for a rare 2 p.m. game in Wisdom Gym on Wednesday, Dec. 19. For more information regarding Tarleton Women's Basketball, follow on Twitter and Instagram (@Tarleton_WBK).
