INSIDE THE SERIES
Tarleton and St. Edward's have a rich history that dates back to 1985 when the teams first met on the hardwood. From 1985 to 2011, the teams played each other 33 times with Tarleton winning 15. The Hilltoppers dominated the series from 1985 to 2002 by winning 18 of the first 22 meetings, but a 49-48 win for Tarleton on Dec. 17, 2002 – a game in which St. Edward's missed two free throws with one second on the clock – turned the tide in Tarleton's favor. That win was the first of 11 consecutive Tarleton victories against St. Edward's through 2011. The 2011 meeting was the last between the TexAnns and Hilltoppers.
UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
