THE GAMES
Tarleton will hit the road for the final time in the regular season this weekend as the No. 17 TexAnns travel to Wichita Falls for a three-game series against Midwestern State. The series has been altered due to inclement weather and will now begin with a Friday doubleheader at 4 and 6 p.m. and close out with a 6 p.m. single game on Saturday. If the Saturday game cannot be played, it will move to 12 p.m. on Sunday.

Tarleton is currently in fourth place in the Lone Star Conference standings and No. 5 in the South Central Region standings.

A LOOK AT LAST TIME OUT
Tarleton pounded St. Edward's in a home doubleheader sweep on Tuesday. The TexAnns had 11 players hit over .400 in the two games as Tarleton outscored the Hilltoppers 32-7.
Megan Durante and
Destiny Crumpley each had five RBI in the two games while
Megan Rosewell and
Julia Wernet earned wins in the circle.
TEXANNS IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
The TexAnns dropped one spot in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association to No. 17 in the latest rankings. For Tarleton, it's the eighth week in school history that the TexAnns have been a national top 20 team. Tarleton continues its record streak of weeks in the top 20 at four straight.
MILESTONE WATCH:
NYKA WOOD
Nyka Wood, who is already the school's all-time leader in RBI, doubles, and games played, is currently closing in on the following school records:
• Hits – Wood is 18 hits shy of passing
Melody Mayse (260) for the all-time hits record
• Total Bases – Wood is 28 total bases shy of passing
Arianna Rodriguez (388) for the most total bases in program history.
MILESTONE WATCH:
JORDAN WITHROW
Jordan Withrow is currently enjoying a stellar sophomore season and broke the single-season record for strikeout in a season with 199 and became the first player in school history to strike out 200 in a season. Withrow is closing in on the another single-season school records:
• Wins – Withrow is 4 wins away from passing Brooke Saulters (24; 2007) for the most wins by a Tarleton pitcher in a single season.
INSIDE THE SERIES
Tarleton and Midwestern State have met 37 times on the softball field since Midwestern started its program in 2004. The Mustangs hold a 25-12 edge all-time and a 12-3 mark in Wichita Falls. Tarleton took two of three from the Mustangs in Stephenville last season.
UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
Tarleton will return home to close out the regular season next weekend in Stephenville against UT Permian Basin. It will be Senior Weekend for the seven TexAnn seniors.
