MEN'S BASKETBALL GAME DAY: Nov. 21-23 vs. DBU, Northeastern State

Texans open LSC play at home against DBU on Thursday, host NSU on Saturday

THE GAME
Tarleton men's basketball opens Lone Star Conference play at home against DBU on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 7:30 p.m. in Wisdom Gym for a Max Point Game on the Fan Rewards App. Thursday's game is the annual 'Toys for Kids' game and fans get free admission with the donation of a new unwrapped toy. The Texans will also host Northeastern State of the MIAA for a non-conference game on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 7:30 p.m.
 
THE BROADCAST
Each game will have a live radio broadcast presented by the Tarleton Sports Network presented by North Texas Ford Dealers. The Voice of the Texans Casey Hogan will have the call for Tarleton basketball this season. The radio broadcast can be heard on KTRL 90.5 FM in Stephenville and surrounding areas or online at TarletonSports.com/ListenLive.
 
ABOUT TARLETON
The Texans enter the weekend 2-2 after splitting last week's games against Oklahoma Baptist and picking up a win against Wiley. Tarleton is averaging 76.8 points per game through four contests and giving up 71.3 points to opponents. Tarleton is shooting 47.8 percent from the floor and 38 percent on 3-pointers. Josh Hawley leads the Texans with 18.8 points per game and adds 8.5 rebounds and 2.3 steals. Hawley has three double-doubles in four games for the Texans. Randall Broddie (11.8 ppg) is also averaging double figures this season.
 
ABOUT DALLAS BAPTIST
Dallas Baptist enters the game 3-0 on the year with all games on the road. DBU is receiving five votes in the lastest NABC poll. DBU is making its Lone Star Conference debut, averaging 71.7 points on 46 percent shooting and giving up 62.7 points on 35.7 percent shooting. The Patriots are led by Chandler Jacobs' 20.5 points and 7 rebounds while Carter Brown adds 14 points, 7 boards, and 4.5 assists.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES: DBU
Tarleton and DBU are meeting for the fifth time in program history with the teams splitting the first four games, 2-2. The Texans are 2-0 at home against DBU, but haven't played the Patriots since 2009.
 
ABOUT NORTHEASTERN STATE
Northeastern State of the MIAA enters the game 5-0 to start the season. The Riverhawks are receiving 13 votes in the latest NABC poll. NSU is averaging 81.8 points on 48 percent shooting while holding teams to 49.6 points on 30 percent shooting. Kendrick Thompson leads NSU with 14.2 points while Caleb Smith follows with 12.6 points.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES: NSU
Former LSC rivals Tarleton and Northeastern State are playing for the first time since 2011 and for the 19th time in program history. The Texans lead the all-time series 11-7 over the Riverhawks. Tarleton has won nine straight meetings over NSU and is 7-3 in Wisdom Gym against the Riverhawks.

The Texans will take on Northwestern State on Thanksgiving eve at home on Wednesday, Nov. 27 at 7:30 p.m. in Wisdom Gym.
