THE GAMES
Tarleton men's basketball begins a five-game homestand to open the second half of LSC play beginning with matchups with MSU Texas and Cameron. The Texans will take on the Mustangs on Thursday, Feb. 7 at 7:30 p.m. in Wisdom Gym followed by facing the Aggies on Saturday, Feb. 9 at 4 p.m.
GAME PROMOTIONS
Thursday night's game against MSU Texas is 'Stephenville Night' in Wisdom Gym. All Stephenville residents will receive free admission to the game with proof of residency.
Saturday's game against Cameron will recognize all of the local first responders. Area first responders and their immediate families will receive free admission to the game.
THE BROADCAST
Each game will have a live radio broadcast presented by the Tarleton Sports Network presented by North Texas Ford Dealers. The Voice of the Texans Byron Anderson will have the call for Tarleton basketball this season. ABOUT TARLETON
The Texans are 16-6 overall and tied for fourth at 6-5 in the LSC on the season. The Texans are averaging 75.5 points per game while holding teams to 66.9 ponts, which ranks second in the LSC. The Texans shoot 48.8 percent from the floor and 38.6 percent on 3-pointers. Tarleton has three players averaging double figures with Josh Hawley leading all players with 17.7 points. Corinthian Ramsey averages 12.3 points and Randall Broddie puts up 10.3 points a night. Hawley is second in the LSC in scoring and leads the LSC in rebounds with 9.9 rebounds and has a conference-best 11 double-doubles in 22 games.
ABOUT MSU TEXAS
MSU Texas enters the weekend 6-15 overall and ninth in the LSC at 2-9 under eighth-year head coach Nelson Haggerty. The Mustangs have lost five straight and are 1-6 on the road. MSU averages 72.5 points on 43 percent shooting and gives up 75.8 points. The Mustangs have three players averaging double figures in scoring, led by JaJuan Starks' 15 points per game.
INSIDE THE SERIES: MSU TEXAS
Tarleton and MSU Texas are meeting for the 58th time since 1988, where the Texans hold a 30-27 series lead. The Texans have won six straight over the Mustangs, the longest stretch by either team in that span. Tarleton is 13-10 at home against MSU Texas.
ABOUT CAMERON:
Cameron enters the weekend 8-13 overall and in eighth in the LSC standings at 4-7 under third-year head coach Andrew Brown. The Aggies are 2-6 on the road this season. Cameron averages 75.4 points on 39 percent shooting and gives up 80 points per game. The Aggies have a pair of players averaging double digits in Tyus Momoh (13.4) and Zach Dumas (13.1).
INSIDE THE SERIES: CAMERON
Tarleton and Cameron meeting for the 40th time since they first played in 1994. The Texans hold the series lead, 30-9, including an 86-48 road win at Cameron in January. The Texans are 18-2 all time at home against the Aggies.
