SAN ANTONIO – The Tarleton Tennis team can thoroughly enjoy the remainder of their spring break after finishing off their third consecutive victory Wednesday morning with a 5-2 win over Auburn-Montgomery at the Northside Tennis Center.

"I am so proud of how the girls competed," said head coach Lance Drake. "We came out aggressive in doubles, which set us up well for singles. Auburn-Montgomery didn't give us anything. We had to earn every point and we made big plays in big moments. It was a great team effort."
 
Wednesday was the first time this week Tarleton was able to secure the doubles point with Alicia Barbaroux and Neetika Sud winning their first match of the season as teammates in the No. 1 position 6-3. Nathalie Ulander and Sofjia Hrovat claimed the No. 3 match by an identical score to send Tarleton into singles with an advantage.
 
Tarleton polished off the victory with four wins in singles, starting with No. 47-ranked Alicia Barbaroux getting back in the win column with a 6-1, 6-0 win in the top position.
 
Nathalie Ulander earned the win in the No. 5 spot to put Tarleton up 3-0 in the match and improve to a team-best 6-2 in singles play on the year. After Auburn-Montgomery won back-to-back points in the No. 6 and 3 positions, Tarleton polished off the win with victories from Sud and Faustine Palatte in the No. 2 and 4 spots, respectively.
 
With the wins, Tarleton improves to 31-19 in singles action this season.

Tarleton will return to action on March 22 in Stephenville to begin Lone Star Conference play against UT Permian Basin at 2 p.m. That match will begin a stretch of three straight home conference matches over four days.
