BASEBALL GAME DAY: April 12-14 at West Texas A&M

Tarleton Baseball heads north to Canyon for altered series against West Texas A&M

THE GAMES
Another weather forecast has altered the original series plans for the Tarleton Baseball team as the Texans head north to Canyon for doubleheaders on Friday and Sunday. Each day will consist of a seven-inning first game and a nine-inning second. Friday's twin bill begins at 3 p.m. with the Sunday games set for a 1 p.m. start.

SCHEDULE CHANGE
The series was originally scheduled as a 1-2-1 series for the weekend. However, rain in the forecast has prompted West Texas A&M to begin the series with a 3 p.m. doubleheader on Friday. The series will end Sunday with a 1 p.m. doubleheader. If the weather affects game play, updates will be posted as they become available on the @TarletonSports twitter account and Facebook pages.

LAST TIME OUT
Tarleton's Connor Flanagan, Zach Svensson and Jon Law combined to keep the Javelinas off the board in the series finale to lift the Texans to a victory Saturday afternoon. Flanagan took the bump and delivered with a career-high 5.2 innings of work, over which he allowed just five hits and a walk while striking out six. Svensson came on in relief and delivered 1.2 innings of relief. Jon Law came on in the eighth with two on and no one out and danced out of danger with a strikeout and a double play. Law worked around a walk in the ninth and struck out two, including one to seal the deal for his first career save.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Tarleton and West Texas A&M have a rich history of competition that dates back to Tarleton's inaugural season as an NCAA school. The Texans and Buffs have squared off 123 times over that span with the Texans earning 64 victories (64-58-1). Tarleton is 23-30-1 all-time in Canyon.

UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
Tarleton will come home for a four-game series against Angelo State Thursday through Saturday next weekend prior to the Easter holiday.
